Technically, "Moon" is the proper name for Earth's major satellite.
Technically, I think the proper name for Earths Moon is Luna, but has generally become known as The Moon. Just like The Sun. There are trillions of stars out there, and if you want to get picky and clasify only stars with planets orbiting them as suns, then there are still probably millions of suns out there, but ours is still The Sun, not Sol, as it should be IMO.
All of the planets past the belt have rings except pluto, and maybe neptune, i cant remember. I know for a fact that Jupiter and Uranus have very faint rings, which imo is part of the reason why we keep discovering new moons.
Did you ever see the Simpsons where Homer and Grandpa went back to the old family farm, and homers shadow was burned into the wall from their Radiation King tv set. I also remember in 6th grade all the monitors in the computer lab had stickers on them, "Now With Low Radiation!", or something like that.
I remember once my younger sister asked my uncle what a cult was, and he told her a cult was a bad religion that hurt people and asked for money. We're catholic and i asked him, what about the crusades and the collection plate every sunday.
I have Roadrunner and you'd think it would be subscribers to an AOL/Time Warner service would be getting letters about sharing media over the internet.
Just because there's correlation doesn't mean its cause and effect. In recent years the number of teenage smokers has dropped, and cpu processor speeds continues to increase, the two must be related...
Wasn't this NASA's or X-project's or somebody's goal for cost to weight ratio of putting stuff in orbit? Is this relatively cheap compared to what it costs NASA per pound? Anyone know?
Me and some of my friends just shot a short film(sort of) and have been distributing burned CDs with the movie in several formats (*.mov, *.mpg and DivX'd *.avi) and with a readme file on the cd urging people to share these files on KaZaA, gnutella etc. and to burn copies for their friends. Now to me this seems like a perfectly legitimate use of both CD burners and P2P file sharing. I'm not naieve enough to not think that 99% of whats on P2P nets is copyrighted (its against the law, but i'm not morally opposed to it as i have 100+GB of tv shows on my computer) but what about the other 1%. These are easy means of distribution to independent content producers, if they're shut down, what are we supposed to do.
PS: Anyone interested in a Star Wars Themed Mullet Hunting video(complete with rotoscoped duel) search KaZaA for Mullet Wars: Episode One the Phantom Mullet or star wars mullet or something of the likes, also feel free to e-mail me about it.
When is someone gonna get around to inventing good old Napcaps from sci-fi. AFAIK REM sleep, when the brain switches to alpha waves is the most benificil, so a device that stimulates alpha waves would offer more value out of less sleep.

They're allways out of flux capacitors when I call, they say they'll be getting some in about two weeks, but they never come.
Thank you, i just looked it up, jupiters 'surface' gravity is 22.88m/s/s.
Yeah, and being reduced to a pile of goo a few centimeters thick by the jovian gravity, good times.
Thats no moon, its a space station!

Someone port Doom to one of these!

Most 12 year olds don't know much about 3d modeling or digital effects. We're 16 :D

So's Mad Max in case you hadn't heard.
Better yet, pick up and after the machine connects you blast the telemarketer with a blue box tone. :)
And just a few AU past Saturn is a lovely view of Uranus.
