Brazil has a policy of absolute reciprocity when it comes to immigration. Brazil requires the same of US Residents applying for a Brazilian visa as the US requires of Brazilian Residents applying for a US Visa.
Any requirement imposed upon Brazilian citizens by any other country is reciprocated toward that country's citizens. It makes perfect sense to do it that way.
Yes, in fact, they are. Brazil has enormous import duties and generally it is not profitable or feasible to manufacture goods outside of Brazil for sale in Brazil.
I did this just this week with a new Lenovo laptop I bought. I took it to the Verizon store and they put a Verizon SIM card in it for their LTE data network and added it to my account, no problem.
You can't have that many antennas in the phone without it being too big. There are half a dozen frequency bands ranging from 700Mhz all the way up to 2100MHz, and one antenna will not do it all.
Sure, it's easy enough to have a software defined radio like they do, but the amplifiers, LNAs, matching networks, and antennas are all cut for one or maybe two bands.
Nobody is holding a gun to your head and making you sign that contract. All of the carriers will give you a no-contract plan or sell you an unsubsidized, unlocked phone.
A USB "charging" cable has the data pins shorted internally to allow high-current charging to USB devices. Why not just use one of these as it will not allow data transmission?
To Linux. We have been 100% Linux since then - not a single Microsoft machine in the entire operation. And yes, we do get threatening letters from the BSA every year...
"The idea is that Android tablet manufacturers will use the Seagate drive, along with the company's mobile enablement kit and caching software, to up the storage."
They will use the "enablement kit" to "up the storage." Does that mean it's not really 500GB, but some smaller capacity that is made to be 500GB through software?
Maybe they just licensed DBLSPACE.BIN from Microsoft?
You have a right against self-incrimination. You have no right against being incriminated by others, or against incriminating others. If you possess material facts and evidence that would incriminate someone else in a trial, you can be compelled to give it up, and nothing in the constitution prevents it.
There are some legal exceptions that have been carved out over time that do offer protections in some circumstances, for example Attorney-Client Privilege, Doctor-Patient Privilege, Spousal Privilege, and so on.
The case here is pretty clear cut. There is nothing journalistic about acting as an avenue for the commission of a crime. You are not writing a story or documenting anything - you are an accessory to a felony.
People use bittorrent to steal music. Ban bittorrent.
Criminals will ALWAYS use lawful means to unlawful ends. Banning the lawful means does not prevent it.
What prevents it is actually holding criminals responsible for their crimes, and making prison HARD, as opposed to the modern "friendly" prisons that are more like club resorts.
If all crimes were punished with hard labor, people would stop committing crimes awfully fast. No TV. No free education. No magazines. No books. No gym. Just a sledgehammer and a pile of rocks. All day. Every day.

The guy at the store said it stopped being Verizon's company policy back in May.

Does anyone know?

... at least I am convinced of that every time I try to sneak up on one and kill it...
Boulder is not a high tech incubation region. Denver's high-tech region is south and east of the city.
Boulder is an incubation region for dirty hippies, far-leftists, organic Rastafarians, and art history majors.
All of that typing just to say "this is Bush's fault."
Sad, indeed.
are the consumers who end up paying for both sides.
Why is Quality of Life measured by whether and how fast someone can access the Internet?
The Internet is not the end-all, be-all of whether life is worth living.
A USB "charging" cable has the data pins shorted internally to allow high-current charging to USB devices. Why not just use one of these as it will not allow data transmission?
Common sense is totally dead in this country.
Because it won't work.
You can't wish a flood away, no more than you can wish the sky to be green.
The world is a global marketplace and there is nothing you can do to stop someone in India offering their services at a lower price than you.

Ionization is not what it's talking about either. But, lesson learned - don't try and be all 'sciency' and use the wrong jargon.
It's not bad science, because it's not science at all.
"First, consider the true vaporization â" the complete separation of all atoms within a molecule"
That's not what vaporization is.
I doubt they have diagnostic coverage of every single flop in the entire processor.
Stop buying OCZ SSDs.

Obviously, that's the way Breaking Bad works. Seasons are 8 episodes long, and there are two seasons per year.
Nothing to see here... move along.
People use forks to become obese. Ban forks.
People use cars to rob banks. Ban cars.
