Did you even see the video?
The guy was on a rant -- his question ended hours ago and he just wanted to hear the sound of his own voice!
When the cops finally did tell him not to take the mic back he acted like a 2 year old, all the way out he was kicking and screaming!

What he needed was a swift knee in the gut from the nearest cop so he would go quietly ... but in the days of handicams I guess the cops have learnt not to do that in public.

They were threatening him with the tazer, not using it to subdue him. A tazer to the arm is nothing more than an annoyance, usually enough to shut someone up. If they'd wanted to put him down a tazer to the back of the neck would've dropped him immediatly. ... I think the cops were showing restraint.

Did you see how many of the audience got up in arms about the cops carrying him away? I didn't see many... maybe because they knew the full context of the situation and were happy to see him carried away so someone could ask a question with the intent of having it answered?

If you can comfortably eat, sleep and slashdot (basic human rights I think!) then you've got your pile, and you're in just as good a position to be generous as anyone else... don't make excuses for others having more generosity than you -- accept the fact that you're a selfish greedy human, same as most others.

Me, I've got my pile, and you're not getting any of it! Good on Trent for giving his pile away to you undeserving thieves. I always stole his albums!

Okay, I agree with the employers thing... it's in line with our current anti-descrimination laws, and on that basis I'll accept it.

    But Insurance?? Really??

I pay more on my car insurance because I am a Male who is under 25. (well I did until I turned 25)... so that would be in violation of both age and sex descrimination laws wouldn't it??

Insurance works on statistics... as a <25 year old Male, I am statically more likely to act like an idiot and crash my car.. so, chances are I pay more insurance than your mother would.

This is 'fair' .. if your mother is 5 times less likely to crash her car than I, why shouldn't she be paying 1/5th of what I do in insurance.

So... if we move onto health insurance, and you have a genetic predispisotion towards obesity, high blood pressure and diabeties you are 4 times more likely to cost the health system more money than a healthy, young male. Tell me why I should be paying the same health insurance premium as you?

Funny you should say that... We use Microsoft products (ie. windows servers, MS SQL, Exchange etc.) over the open source or *NIX products because in country areas it's *MUCH* easier to find staff who understand Microsoft products.

In small businesses when you have one person who is your network admin / systems admin / dba / tech support it is important to have products that are easy for a (skilled) tech to figure out.

Sure, a MySQL expert can script and use the Open Source tools faster than a Microsoft Expert can Microsoft tools... but what's the learning curve on MySQL's CLI, or X-Windows tool for a systems admin (ie. not dba) compared to Microsoft's SQL Enterprise Manager?

I'm sorry to say it -- it may be slower, but every time I want to create a database I'm going to be wanting to right click on something and select the 'create database' or 'attach database' option... not try to remember if the command is 'create database [databasename] [physcial file] [log file]' or 'create database name=[databasename] file=[physical file] log=[logfile] set recovery=full'

So how does the TCO line up when you compare what your existing tech can do with Microsoft SQL, vs. paying $250 an hour for the _ONLY_ contractors in town who understand *nix or trying to bribe a DBA from the city to move to the country and work for you?
