It's not an ad hominem. An ad hominem is an argument that relies on an attack on the character of an opponent.

The post you responded to doesn't rely on the character attack. It relies on a factual account of the corruption of a political group, and then adds a dose of venom on top of the factual account. With or without the added character attack, the strength of the argument rests on the factual account.

    Another example:

Factual account: The policeman entered false information into the court record.
Ad Hominem: The policeman is a stupid pig.
Factual account with an added character attack: The stupid pig entered false information into the court record.

The only statement which counts as an ad hominem is the middle one. It does not contain any factual information on which a logical argument can be based.

I find that if I look at the back of my own hand it captures the sexy detail of the feminine pudenda after all those nasty dirty dangly bits have been removed.

So folks, when you circumcise your sons and daughters, it's pretty much the same as if you sent your children over to my house to play. I know that's what you intended.

In a truly transparent society, there would be 10 times as many cameras pointed back at the govt. Look at how many cops get caught by private cameras. Look at how cops suddenly forget the rules about citizens being able to photograph any damn thing they want to on public property. That includes terrorist-attractive targets.

In a transparent society, you could photograph the Brooklyn Bridge without having a worry somewhere in the corner of your mind. You could photograph a police office arresting someone without worrying for your safety. And we wouldn't give a rats ass about who ELSE, government or civilian, has a camera - only that we have our own camera.

Let's look at TFA to see what she said:

"I don't want Nazis stomping on a highway named for my father. What are they going to do then if they don't pick up the litter? The whole thing is disgusting," said Susannah Heschel, professor of Jewish history at Dartmouth College.

"It may be an attempt to teach the neo-Nazis a lesson," she said. "But I think it's an affront to my father's dignity to attach his name to a neo-Nazi highway."

Now, if the Nazis don't clean up the litter, they lose the road. Someone else will be assigned to clean it up. And furthermore, it's not a Nazi highway, it's an American highway. Long after the Nazis lose their commission to clean the road, it'll still be named after the Rabbi.

About the fuel depots. Might not sound like much, if you say fuel depots. It's easy to miss the point.

You need to mention that these fuel depots are fillable by third parties.

Now, anyone paying attention will notice that two categories of capitalist have been created. The fuel depot owner, and the fuel supplier. Each buys and sells services and thereby commercializes another aspect of space.

And with more people able to do a conceptually simple delivery-man type job, the number of space companies increase, and the total number of launches will increase.

Fuel depots are very important. But you have to explain why, for the newbies.

One of the most serious social issues that we face is that people don't value knowledge and learning for its own sake. When the heights of human potential - at any part of the spectrum - are ignored, we all suffer.

We cannot solve social problems by retreating from our highest endeavors. The cost of the space program in the USA per family is the same as what it costs to see a movie. But military programs, inherently negative and wasteful, consume HALF of the federal income taxes paid. We ignore our social problems. We put our national energies into war, and the budget is a reflection of that.

There. That's a proper response to your trolling, don't you think?
