Yeah, I don't like remote root exploits any more than the next guy, but are there a lot of people who run this 24/7? For the one hour a week I run this tool, I'm not AS concerned as if it was my OS with those vulnerabilities *cough*Windows*cough*.
3. Lots of smart people
Smart in an intellectual way, not smart in a "this is how the world really works" way. The old adage, those who can't, teach, is at least partially true (yes, I said partially).
But only communicate this intention if you are certain you want to do it. It could backfire and you will be touring whether you want to or not. I definitely agree with the above post, tho. Also, you only live once. Do it before you get sucked into IT hell for 30 years with little or nothing to look back on.
Sheesh, you guys should try Georgia. Carjackers can be shot on sight. Break into someone's house, bang. Hell, one of the towns near me it is a law that every homeowner MUST own a gun. Not joking. Look up Kennesaw GA. We don't play down here, and don't try to take our shit.
And lets not forget YOU are held liable if the thieves steal your gun and then use it in a crime.
alway's, and that's the way it should be.
Incorrect. If you report it stolen, as you should typically notice when one of your firearms is stolen, there is nothing they can do.
Agreed. Charbucks burns the shit out of their coffee. On a side note, I came into work this morning and they are out of coffee. At a fucking development shop?
Try them. I have been very happy with mine. The hardest part is convincing the airport security monkeys, that no, there is in fact no metal in my shoes. Not sure if all of their shoes are sans metal, but mine definitely are. Very comfortable as well.
Every morning parked in front of the toll booth I kick myself for not having one, and resolve to get on the website to get one. Now, I'll sit in the cashier lane for that 2 minutes, thanks for the motivation.
Seems like it would be a lot better to design a good game system with PDA functionality, like this thing, than the opposite. If it's good at gaming, how tough is to add PDA features?
Or stability for that matter. Oracle 9i RAC clustered on Windows has gotta be the most unreliable db platform you could put together. One of our clients was sending out daily emails reporting server uptime in HOURS, on a database server! That product has been out for 2 years now and it's not stable. I gotta wonder what they had to do to that 10g cluster to make it run. Speed is great, but how about uptime, etc. Win one for Linux, which is good. I hope they improved scalability with 10g as well, as 9i RAC goes up to about 6 nodes.
Skip the MS Project Server. That thing is the devil. We just got off of it (thank you). It lacked some very basic usability making your life a living hell if you had to use it every day.
We have several VERY GOOD ones where I work. You probably don't see too many because once you find one you never let them go. That being said, I know it is typical in the industry to not pay them dick, but that is mainly for the folks documenting how to use Word, etc. Most of the high dollar tech writers I have known did contract gigs. They work for three months at a shot for damn good money and can always get a job. I know of a good contract firm in the Atlanta area that deals almost exclusively with them and almost always has jobs for good tech writers. They recruit for jobs nationally. (No, I am not affiliated, my wife worked for them a few years ago).
In other news, two-thirds of the population over 18 admitted to copying their friends' cassettes. Most of the non-technical people I talk to that have no problem with downloading music off of the net go back to that.

Definitely, and Archos is not exactly selling these things like hotcakes.

Any review of security/firewalls using Gibson's crappy analysis tools is beyond flawed. I would take all of this review with a grain or two of salt.
You also may want an SLA stating the expected available power at the location. That, and have everyone bring their hair dryers.

Oh, and the properly disrepectful term is pedant, not anal dickhead.
Don't you mean pederast?
Remember the Monorail? Neither does anyone else.
That is what I thought as well, but how do college radio stations operate? Do they get a break on pricing, etc?
I have my own roaster and just use good green beans from a local place. Some of the best coffee I have had.

Thought that said Sybian. That would be an interesting integration...

and to add to that
bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. Good frickin' luck with that one boys... Lawyers don't make up for stupidity (usually).
Oh, and you may want to see today's fart thread on fark.

They can have fvwm95 back... jeez, that thing sucks (as much as what it was trying to copy). But I see your point.
I guess if you went to the store they have copies there for purchase. Not sure how all of that works, though. Sounds really damned inconvenient to me.
