    aforethought named him Bill Wyman, recognizing that it would be a vaguely semi-cool bassist sort of a name, though they knew at birth that their son was not genetically predisposed to be musically inclined (other then writing about it), and fully realizing that this would impair and confuse the reputation of a future musician who would be adopt the name as his own years after their son had been born.

    Is that an accurate description?

    First, you're right in that it came into effect on 11/06/02. So any contributions made before then to influence the decision would not have been covered.

    And, considering the large number of endruns around the CFA have already been reported on, I'm quite sure that no politician needs limit him/herself to being bought for only $5K.

    Plus, you're missing the real point. Powell isn't an elected official. He is a Republican party member however, who has continued to reward through action and/or inaction large contributors to the party. I'm not suggesting personal greed. I'm stating political loyalty/ethical vacuum.

    I'm not a "Everything must be GPL'd" person.

    Since they are planning it now, I was wondering if there were reasons they had avoided it up until now.

    Other posts suggest that they were trying to restrict the introduction of a) gambling software and b) code that would allow the pirating of current arcade games. They further suggest that this was done to avoid legal complications on this program. This all begs the question: what has changed that they feel comfortable GPL'ing it now?
