Wow! How does it fit all of that? Especially three drive bays?

Doesn't that lessen the incentive to carpool? Why are going to carpool if you have to share the carpool with a bunch of rich wankers who can afford stickers? The carpool lane encourages the ecologically friendlier practice of carpooling and that should be its focus.
Of course, when changes to this service are made the user should have the option of going along w/ changes or discontinuing the service. A lot of service contract are for an indetermined amount of time, on a month-to-month (or other time period) basis. A business should be able to say, next month we are charging double, and the customers can either go along with it or bail out.
I agree with most of them but this one seems unreasonable:
All ongoing, recurring registration expenses must be clearly explained at purchase, or I will not pay them. This includes fees for services such as.mac and.NET. You must, however, continue to provide the services.
Services change all the time. You can't expect a business to be able to look into the future, their business model may have to change in order to stay successful.
I just know that there is a charged coil in there that can zap you, even if it is unplugged. And there are toxic chemicals in there. I like to open stuff up (even radios clocks and cars), but not if it can electrocute when it isn't even plugged in.
Apparently you are correct. Not sure on the laptop idea though. It would be kinda scary if they were pushing that kind of power through radio frequencies. I obviously don't know much about the technical details of radio frequencies though, so maybe it is possible.
If anyone can get the ball rolling on RFID it is Wally World. They have lots of experience putting pressure on manufacturers and distributors. They will just tell the distributors NO RFID=No Wal-Mart. They have so much buying power they can always find someone to sell cheaper, or in this case someone cooperate w/ the RFID rollout. Check out this AlterNet article about Wal-Mart's questionable business and employment practices. It is titled How Wal-Mart is Remaking our World: Bullying people from your town to China
That is hillarious. That was exactly what I was picturing. I sure as hell wouldn't try to build a CRT. I won't even open up the case of an existing CRT.
I have a question. Which time period had more diverse media? Today we have huge corporations that own parts of many types of media and have overwhelming control because of all their money and their corporate privilages that the US government has so graciously granted since Edison's time. But back then the media was much more limited. There was no TVs or Internet so people had fewer mediums to through which to be bullied. If someone controlled one or two of these mediums they could probably do a decent job of bullying. So, it might not have worked back then, but is it more or less likely to work today?
Considering how much the Half Life folks made off of mods like counter-strike I am not sure $1 million in prizes is adequate. The makers of Unreal Tournament stand to make lots of cash if any of these mods are decent.
Why doesn't Verizon just charge a number portability fee like the land-line phone companies do? Is the FCC or the courts stopping them? If there only argument against portability is cost why don't they pass the cost off to the customers? Then Cingular can capatalize on it w/ a No Portability Charge ad campaign since they seem to be in favor of protability. Works for everyone...except maybe customers.

Does this mean they can sue Wal-Mart and any other competition?
change the color...just like w/ vehicle registrations stickers.

Yeah, that is what I meant.

Like in Bourne Identity.
Mark this post. With RFID tags, this will happen. Just not right away, admittedly.
Sooner than most think.
With current technology I don't think the battery would last 6 months. Furthermore, I don't think Wal-Mart clothing lasts 6 months.

OK, you're right. It was made to surve the Recording Industry.
Could he load slashdot on that thing?
hehe. mod that shit up.
Yes, it is. They often use day/month/year instead of month/day/year
I think he wrote a thesis on it.
What a wimp. He didn't even make his own monitor!
We really shouldn't have to resort to ditching technology. The RIAA was made to serve the public, not drive us to Amishism...shudder.

It would be pretty funny if a YAWW showed up. Some worm writer should name their worm that.
