this is largely due to the shitty ass shitty fonts that are built into the linux. they're all jaggedy and whatever. they look like they were drawn in mspaint by a 2nd grader who had just snorted a couple of pixie sticks. so, to make this site accessible to the slobbering mongloids that are lunix users (with their myopic blind-eyeballs and grease-smeared spectacles), they've gotta jack the font size way up.
so there's another reason windows xp is better: linux needs larger fonts to be readable, and that takes up more bandwidth.
