I believe that Blizzard touts a 6 million user base for WoW - say that only 1% of those are Mac users.
6,000,000 *.01 = 60,000 users
60,000,000 * 19.99 (price of game) = $1,199,400 for just buying the game
Say each user only plays for 7 months (1 month free + 6 months)
6 * 14.95 = $89.70 per user * 60,000 = $5,382,000
I bet these are very conservative numbers - and look at the cash flow - I believe that's the reason that Blizzard (and other companies) should cater to Mac users. Even a low % is earning them some significant $$ (note that they do have operational and capital costs to maintain the servers / staff - but you can see the scope of a few % points)
Obviously people care, because they're asking for the support - whether you like it or not there are a significant amount of Mac gamers out there.
Obviously you care, because you felt so strong about it you had to post too.
And to turn this back into an interesting discussion instead of an O/S holy war - I'd be interested to know what % of Mac users make up WoW - and how much revenue that represents. That might make the Warhammer folks open their eyes.
I think that it is - similar to what iTunes does now - for example, changing your status message to the currently playing song / movie / tv show.
New functionality - maybe WoW could display the server you're playing on, etc...
Just curious - when you placed the order, and they gave you the lead time - was it over 2 weeks? Are you frustrated because they missed a deadline or are you artificially imposing one on them?
The question though isn't about trademarks - it is whether pre 1985 the term "Windows" was able to be linked to Microsoft in most people's minds. There were (are) prior systems in place which make this highly improbale - such as X windows.
I was trying to get accross too much information in too few words;)
If you're really that concerned about the minimal audio quality loss going from AAC -> MP3 you should be buying your songs on CD / SACD / DVD-Audio and not downloading them in the first place...
One of the neat things that came out of this to me was the DVI to ADC adaptor.
Something I've always been jealous about was Apple's stunningly good LCD displays, especially the 22" one.
I noticed that they now have a DVI to ADC adaptor which supports GeForce 4 Ti cards. Does anyone know if the DVI interface is different on PC's rather than the Mac? In other words, can I buy the adaptor and a nice 22" monitor and hook it up to my PC now? I couldn't find any schematics, and the website does mention only certain DVI systems....

you can have ethernet over fiber, token-ring over fiber, FDDI over (you guessed it) fiber.....
