    Disagree. I pay total 3k/year taxes on less than 25k income. I don't have any deductions or loopholes. And no, I'm not some kid in school, either.

    I'm lower-class, and I pay about 3k/year on 20k income. I have no loopholes or deductions available. No, I don't get it back (like my former supervisor thought). FWIW I'm not some starving student, either - I'm middle-aged with several trades and some college, no union. Like many republicans, I hopped on the bandwagon when I voted for Reagan. Thinking the company would take care of me if I took care of them.

    They didn't.

    If corporate taxes were to suddenly drop to zero, do you think that would be reflected in your pay? Nope. However, it *might* make goods and services cheaper, allowing you to stretch your dollar further each month. But I wouldn't count on it.

    Um, the EU has pretty tough data protection and privacy laws. Notice the part in TFA about how they're looking into FB in Dublin?
    Yeah, I know the UK doesn't consider itself to be EU, but still they have tougher laws than the US it seems. And the UK does have to have cross-agreements in place with the EU.

    As far as US investigation goes, I'm willing to bet a bunch of public and private figures would be nervous about their browsing habits...

    Welcome to the real world. They can tax me just the same as they tax you. And in fact, they do just that. And yes, violence (or at least the threat of imprisonment) is in fact the foundation of government authority.

    So why won't they specify exactly which patents? Patents are public, after all. And exactly which parts of those patents may be infringed upon? With specificity.

    It's the exact same BS that SCO pulled... and when the judge asked them where the infringement was, they imploded.

    Notice how MS won't say exactly which patents, or what violations without an NDA? They tried the same stunt on Barnes & Noble re: their Nook e-book reader. Barnes & Noble told them to fsck off. Which they did, eventually. After all, if MS was so sure about their case, they would have no problem proclaiming everything right out in the open. By not allowing any possible recourse, they are limiting the possible damages they could collect (in the US at least) by the principle of estoppel.

    Split-loom cover. The sort that is usually used for automotive wiring under the hood. Very cheap, neat and effective, especially if you can get everything into one thick "trunk". Available at most any US or Canadian parts store.
