No, this "toy" certainly does not have any cool features. The fact alone that it exists resp. that it's getting developped is enough crap. When will you stop, U.S.A?
Hm? I thought Real's own open source player does not play RA/RV according to the submission. Only RealPlayer 10 or whatever can do this. Helix itself is only playing stuff other players can play as well. Not sure about the SMIL stuff though.
# To burn to CD or MP3 player, you must purchase tracks separately
* $0.99 per track or $9.95 per album (You only pay this if you want to burn to CD or MP3 player.)
* Purchased tracks have no restrictions - unlimited copying, no expiration
# Cannot download new tracks during summer or winter breaks
* Tracks already downloaded still playable during breaks
... there are no other problems to solve first. But yeah, the U.S. military budget always comes first, right. Great work guys. Kudos to them that they joint develop with the Israelis! Keep the irony if you find it...
Unless the RA/RV formats are opensourced and royalty free, people will complain. There are already tons of opensource players out there, so if Real wants to make someting which pleases the crowd, then release all codecs. Yeah I know it won' going to happen but hey, this is/.
"Our technology is an integral part of JPEG and Apple uses JPEG in their devices and software. Apple has been using our methods and materials and they have been stealing our intellectual property, in our opinion. This needs to stop," he said.
Sorry, but from the Text in the Advisory, it's rather obvious that BGP is "in danger" according to the type of TCP "flow" BGP relies on. So he didn't reveal anything new except on the part how the NOCs are dealing with the issue. Oh and it's funny that the DOH has their fingers in it...
But then, you could use every toy laser pen as a "communication device", or even more: you could use the highway as a communication line (just send cars in morse code over it)... just kidding.
The biggest (if not only) problem with OOo I heard from a guy which works in a bigger midsize company is the fact, that you can't reuse all the macros they wrote in MS Office. That's a big minus as lot's of company data (reports, worksheets etc) are using the macro options from MS Office. Otherwise, he said his company could adopt it...
The sample WMA song worked most probably only because it was DRM free. I can't imagine that they would work without WMP with all that crappy DRM stuff attached (has to be online for the first time played...).

There is a special Realplayer made for BBC out there.

because I don't know what is in these patches.
So, you know what's in WinXP itself?

Looks like someone is enhancing the troll filter in order to prevent people posting via open proxies. So what...
Or in other words: Helix Player is completely worthless and nothing more than marketing hype from Real.
There is no added value such as RA/RV playback, why even bother developping/maintaining another Media Player?
