I was a little disappointed to see that the term "fly" seems to describe how
it moves through the water, rather indicate the capabilities of a submersible flying boat... Now that would be cool!
I was shocked to learn last week, from my electrician friend, how wasteful standard AC power service to a house can be.
According to his explaination the typical house gets 240v service. This is 2 legs of 120v, but the interesting thing is that if you use use 5a on one leg and 10a on the other, 5a is going straight to ground because the usage must be equal between the two legs.
I, of course, quickly envisioned a computer in charge of the power panel that would use relays to balance the load. If you had a 5a and 10a draw on one leg (for a total of 15) and a 5a draw on the other, the computer would throw a relay to move the 5a usage to the other leg and balance the usage.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to build this, and have only a second-hand understanding of the problem. Maybe one of you is better equipped to solve this problem.
What happened to the idea of creating a product for the purpose of giving value to your customer? In return I believe the average customer will reward you with their business.
I've never used any of the P2P networks to obtain my music because I don't mind paying for a product that has value. I do however insist on keeping my music collection on a hard drive because the desert sand (everywhere!) in this area quickly renders a CD unusable (often a month or less of use).
About the first time I get a CD (Crippled Disk TM.) You can bet your ass that I'm going to find a way to copy it and distribute it liberally!
BMG, Why must you insist on fighting a war that you won't win at the expense of loosing paying customers?! You need to persue social responsibility as an answer to your distribution dilemma.
Unfortunately, the 5 year limitation on a large part of this ruling seems to indicate that having to play fair in not only the punnishment but a temporary one.
In order to gain access, a company would have to use Microsoft's "Passport" identity authentication system, then request and sign two forms - one of them promising secrecy - just to see the license terms and find how much Microsoft is charging for the information.
We're going to prevent this information from becoming usefull...
Microsoft spokesman Jim Desler called the protocol process straightforward. He said nondisclosure agreements are common in the industry...
Everybody does this...
The protocols are vital for competitors since Windows runs on about 90 percent of desktop computers..
Has anyone had high quality results with DVD players under Linux? I've tried Xine and VideoLan and both are choppy on an AMD1600+ with a Samsung SD-616F. I've been looking for drivers for this drive with no luck.
Presumably, the decription is taking place on my processor and bogging my system enough to cause the poor video quality?
Any ideas?
Oh yea, DVD works great under that POS other OS using WinDVD but who wants to boot the M$ partition?
I wonder if the worm could be alterd to create a benign/tmp/.bugtraq.c file and block writes. This modified worm could be sent out in a race against the other and save face for the open source community.
Is it still a felony to break in to someones computer to protect them?
I'm having trouble getting RC2 to work with my drop-down navigation found here.
Does anyone know the trick (or see my mistake)? Occasionally, I can get Mozilla to open a new tab (using both mouse buttons at once) but often while trying this Mozilla takes off looking for 'www.php.com'. Is it trying to validate something?

Your modem is likely a 'win-modem' that will unfortunately never configure to be Linux compatible. These are common in several name-brand computers.
I believe the problem is that M$ specified a modem for their OS. (You can do that as a monopoly).
I'm not sure if the compatibility is a hardware issue or a closed source issue, but either way it keeps you as a loyal fan of M$.

That's so much fun I *almost* want to stop blocking pop-up windows with Mozilla!
All I need is a script that looks for onload="window.open('http://...');" and makes the appropriate adjustment to my /etc/hosts for me!

Tabs rock!
