It's harder for people to show how smart they are by reflecting on things carefully and making posts that add to the discussion. Heck, they might even have to face the fact that they don't know enough to contribute anything meaningful. Shitposting is a good way to not face that reality, and go on about your smug day.
If this catches on in America some gear heads are going to explode.

I would use Radiant or Movable Type over the likes of Drupal and Wordpress any day. In particular, the ability to define and combine custom Radius tags makes Radiant an extremely powerful tool.

I am a web developer and I know lots of PHP and I am able to understand intimately how Drupal operates with my infrastructure and get it to work fine for me. It is not a panacea, and as far as open source CMSes go, I think it's mediocre.

People hate on Windows and that works pretty well too. What do you think?
I'd say it's a bargain. Think about all the driving and snacks, hell, maybe even consumer gadget purchases this contest will inspire. Those have gotta be worth something to the economy. Maybe the next stimulus package should be a scavenger hunt.
Once again an inept bureaucracy of the federal government tries to solve problems with bigger, more expensive problems. We don't need an EPA, the constitution gives us property rights. If pollution encroaches on your private property you don't need to appeal to Big Environmentalism, just take the polluter to court!
Dozens of dittoheads will pan this without even considering that it's worth talking to people who built national broadband networks so that we don't repeat their mistakes.
Every time an education-related story appears on Slashdot a certain contingent of people rush in to tell you how most people have too much of it, and that you really only need to get a particular sort and then not worry about it. Each and every one of these posts reads like a treatise on exercise written by a couch potato.
Did you even watch the videos at your second link? It's pretty clear to me that Theora is the better codec in that clip. Play them side by side and notice how much better the butterfly and the sky looks with Theora.
I'm pretty sure the teabaggers were hating on us for electing a Kenyan-born muslim stalinist. We've just been trying to give them access to education and health care (who needs that?).
Also, it's "15 minutes of fame" and "two-minutes' hate".

Not sure why this got modded down, it seems plausible to me.

Drupal is for scrubs
Half the demos don't work and these widgets are hideous even by Google standards. I'm gonna stick with ExtJs for the forseeable future.

Why would they need to manufacture an event to do that?
Go read some Augustine, Mr. Perfect.
His insight is apparently annoying to some people, so they need to read it again,
A private one would have been more Ron Paul

20% troll, you dittoheads crack me up!
This is why your mom and I wanted you to study hard in school

Because I find the inevitable apoplectic reaction from a certain type of person, hilarious.
If you like that kind of crap you should start reading Ron Paul blogs :-)
I can't transfer my yahoo to my twitter, this cloud computing has gone wild.
Off the cuff, yes. Trolling, no. I think you may be oversimplifying my remark--I said "so many people" not "all" or even "most".

I have to seriously wonder why so many people here are so passionate about not needing an education.
