I see that you are now 48 years old. Do you still enjoy getting your hands dirty digging into code or do you find yourself becoming comfortable moving towards management & other roles? Where do you see yourself five years from now?
What is your opinion on anonymity - one of the Internet's greatest attributes - being attacked from all directions off late? On the one hand, governments are gunning against it citing national security and "protecting the children" as excuses, ISPs are being forced to retain activity logs thanks to the RIAA & other mobs, and the advent of Facebook, Google+, and other "people registers", are eroding privacy across the board. On the other hand, entire governments are being overthrown thanks to social revolutions with the Internet fostering freedom of speech without fear of repercussion. What is your opinion on all this and where do you see things ending up?
In your last interview you mentioned that one of your primary goals was to change your much-maligned image as the most notorious hacker in the world into something more reputable. Have you succeeded? How has the journey been?
Exactly. If you want to schedule a meeting at UTC 4pm, how do you know if it is convenient for that the person halfway around the world? There is already a Universal Time Zone for business. It's 9-5 in most industries. Furthermore, in this Age of the Internet, all it takes is a little widget on your desktop or mobile to tell you the time anywhere in the world. It isn't really that inconvenient.
A chartered flight, depending on the distance, will cost something like USD12000 an hour. That'd make the longest flight, Singapore to Newark, which clocks in as an 18 hour stretch, set you back USD216000. Going to space for less than that is a bloody bargain.
Presumably, space flights will also have cabin crew. That will probably become one of the most coveted jobs out there:)
"Touring the space frontier seems a little steep. A lot of people are just trying to make living in a home a reality without being foreclosed on."
Does the above sound like something coming from a Virgin shill?

Y: The Last Man ++ . The rights have already been purchased. But I think that a movie version won't do it justice. A miniseries might be better if the budget and a willing male Capuchin monkey can be found. As somebody else mentioned, a Preacher movie will also be excellent. All this talk has made me queue "Wanted" for download. I've heard that it's very good. But I'll be sure to keep my expectations low.
I agree. There's plenty of new material and plenty of old material as well. As for the article itself, it claims that Watchmen was "bad" which implies that the writer is something of a turd:S
Aren't there new Iron Man, Kick Ass, Flash Gordon and Conan adaptations also coming out?
As others have noted, there's a PDF download link available in the Flash reader. The site also defaults to the PDF if your browser does not support Flash. There is nothing terribly wrong about this at all unless you find fault with PDFs in general as well. I know I do. That said, the Flash ebook is sprinkled with videos as well as images. This could be one reason why they have opted to go with it.
I found the fact that I had to visit the WSJ blog to get a link to the ebook (or the EG8 site itself) more annoying than the actual subject matter:\
Considering that this is/., the submitter's alias is "freedumb" and the linked article is on torrentfreak, isn't the headline rather poorly constructed? The torrentfreak article is titled "Kino.to Raided In Massive Police Operation, Admins Arrested" which is a lot more accurate.
Ugh! I blame it on CmdrTaco:S I do get a little heated about non-vegetarianism and the hypocrisy of people who cuddle a lamb one minute and slit its throat the next. Also, to quote a friend of mine, this is not the age of the computer, this is the age of the supermarket. People rarely have any idea where their dinner comes from - be it meat or veggies - or why they are eating it.
oh bollocks. This isn't about money or property and I dare say that as long as you don't live in an apartment, you can have a couple of chooks running about. This is about appreciating where your food comes from and moreover, appreciating that you are taking the life of an innocent animal to satisfy your cravings for a quarter-pounder. It is also worthwhile considering why you are a non-vegetarian and wonder whether you would be one today if it weren't for your upbringing.
No, I didn't read the first article. Yes, I super-speed-skimmed through this one... Nevertheless, from what I understand, isn't what you are proposing currently being implemented on/. as metamoderation? Watching the watchers and so on? Furthermore, trying to find ways to categorise the "values" of reviewers etc. sounds similar to weighted voting, a system in use on sites like IMDb.
My personal opinion on the whole matter though, is that all the sewage of the world should be redirected into the Facebook data-centre. But I'm guessing that that is neither here no there:S
P.S. Has the submitter officially changed his name to "Slashdot regular contributor Bennett Haselton"? Or is "Bennett Haselton"/.'s Alan Smithee?
... the Orbiter had discovered huge deposits of precious metals or rare-earth elements. This might trigger more funding for these missions in the future. Aren't all currencies backed by gold reserves?
No, he's saying that it's a failure and that you are not acknowledging that it's a failure by using "developer-phone" market-speak. He was civil about it while you have resorted to name-calling.
Microsoft aren't licensing it as software for developer phones, are they?
Jobs lost at Location A are jobs gained at Location B. Once Location B loses its competitiveness, the jobs will goes to Location C. Progressively, the economic advantage of Locations A, B & C will all converge at a point of peaceful coexistence. As an outsider unaffected by outsourcing one way or another, I can only arrive at the conclusion that this is a good thing. It spreads the wealth, knowledge and other economic benefits from the richer to the poorer countries until an equilibrium is reached. Ideally, in 50 years time, we will have progressed from our presently petty national and racial boundaries to international unions such as the EU.
Isn't all this just another facet of the "free market" that all western countries hunger for?

God-damned Troglodytes.
You covered a lot in that brief rant. Snopes provides a little more information.

Yes, but somebody in the poorer country is getting richer and improving his/her life and the life of his/her country. That is a Good Thing.
