Hamartia (the word that is translated "sin" in English bibles) is an old Hebrew archery term that means "missing the mark" or "falling short of the mark." There is no element of disobedience in its meaning.
...to go to Nashville to preach the Gospel!
We of the One True Religion need to go there and demand that all Creationist myths be granted equal time, including ours.
Fortunately there is an Old Spaghetti Factory franchise in Nashville, so we'll be able to attend worship services while we're there among all those heathens. O bless His Noodly Appendage!
Some day, I'm hoping that all these retarded laws get bitch slapped back. Is it just that I'm young or are these people become more shrill and outspoken about this kind of idiocy? I'm only 25 and I'm hoping this is just a phase before we inevitably tell them all the shut the hell up and move on with things.
You'll have a bit of a wait. IIRC it took Christendom something like 300 years to finally admit that the Earth really does revolve around the Sun. At that rate, it will be about another 150 years or so before they admit the reality of evolution.
How does it feel to be blamed for other people's stupidity? I mean, when someone is too stupid, or lazy, to secure their systems and allows my personal information to get stolen, how does it feel when I blame you instead of the idiot that didn't take security seriously?
I guess what I'm really asking is, when someone hides their housekey under the doormat and some thief uses it to walk into their house and take stuff, how do you sleep at night?
I posted on this earlier from my phone, but it looks like it never showed up. We DO have old mines here in the US and at least one of them has re-opened.
If you live in Southern California or Las Vegas, you can go see it. It's in the Mojave Desert just off of I-15, near the exit to Nipton, California. Look to the north as you're crossing that little mountain.
China has been (probably illegally) dumping Rare Earth metals on us at below their cost for some time. The purpose was to drive our domestic producers out of business. But the ore is still there in the ground, the mining claims are still valid, and in some cases it isn't that difficult to re-open the mines.
Yes, the prices of hard drives will go up. A little. Because the prices of Rare Earths has been artificially low. But there's no Armageddon looming here, just a correction that will probably be relatively small.
It seems like everyone I know on Google+ are young tech people.... whom know someone that works at Google. No celebrities, no popular non-techs, etc... Just tech folks.
Yeah, like Ron Paul... William Shatner... Britney Spears...
This should be a "well, duh". The fact that a state legislature finds it necessary to micromanage the public education establishment on something so obvious should speak volumes about the rampant incompetence of the latter.
Sad that our Republic has come to this.
Oh come on. These guys have spent the last 20+ years politicizing science, subverting the Scientific Method and committing massive fraud -- and they're upset because they are beginning to be investigated?
What these people have done to Science is absolutely inexcusable. They have set back scientific progress -- and the public's confidence in Science -- by decades. As a science nerd, that just flat pisses me off.
I hope this doesn't end until Al Gore himself is in a pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
Why would you think it would actually be easier for a drone to get through?
Because you can afford to swarm them.
heh heh. Reminds me of my days when I was a counterculture Left-wing hippie radical (basically, what "mainstream" Democrats are today). I had a hard-core Communist friend who'd hatched a plan to fly a whole bunch of R/C airplanes, each carrying one stick of dynamite, into the Pentagon...
OH... EM... GEE
That is the funniest thing I've seen since the founding of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!
"Sin" is, to be specific, disobedience to God.
Uh, no.

A better way to get a fundamentalist confused is to ask them "Who was created first, Adam and Eve or the animals?"
An even better way to get a fundamentalist confused is to ask:
"If we're the product of Intelligent Design, why is the playground next to the sewer?"
Do you have book, chapter and verse on where the Bible prohibits prayers in school?
Yes.
Matthew 6:5-6
I thought Vandy was an ivy league school? What's the definition of "ivy league" anyway? Too painful to look it up on my phone...

Except that one of the Ivy League schools is IN Tennessee.

You MIGHT live long enough...
They're like the animals isolated in the Galapagos Islands ? They're still in the 1800's intelligence wise in Tennessee ?
I see you've never lived in Tennessee. Short answer: yes.
I never said he was entitled to enter. Please re-read my comment above.

Honestly.

Is Goatse on G+ yet?
Or better yet, what if its sent to ATT or whoever your carrier is now?
Uh, AT&T (or whomever is your carrier) already knows everywhere your cell phone has been.

He actually thought this would work!
...is that a Micro$oft employee actually had the brains to figure all of this out. M$ is not known for their networking expertise.
Might as well just get an RV and live your new employer's parking lot until they go bankrupt and you have to change jobs again
Hey! That's what I'm doing! I just bought a motorhome, then lost my job.

...horizontal evolution is still working even on humans.
Yeah, all of my kids got their DNA from a "horizontal gene transfer"...

Now that the WSJ is a Rupert Murdoch mouthpiece, it is a tabloid
No, it isn't. It's a broadsheet.
