exactly WHEN is a robot evolving on their own and not developed by humans?
Is it when they have the ability create another robot? (I'm sure it's easy to do that today)
Is it when they have the ability to replicate themself?
Is it when they can rebuild themself and improve their own performance?
In my opinion all robots will be human made, even if the design and building is made by a robot made by a robot made by a robot made by robots designed, made and controlled by humans.
I know alot about AI, and I know the difference between genetic AI and basic like AI. Have you checked the site out?.. It has ALOT more to "think" about than just balance and height achivement.
Okay it has only one goal, to win, but to achieve that it has to predict enemy moves, develope strategies with teammates. What can it do? it can turn right, left, accelerate, brake, and shoot. Inputs is like is enemy in line of sight and such things. It must learn ALOT on the way while playing. Don't tell me to learn about AI. I KNOW the robots in that game has more advanced AI than that stupid fly-robot has.
What you have a lot to learn about is read upon fact before talking, and don't speak shit about people you know shit about.
where you're supposed to code a bot that kills all other bots in a game in a tournament. The AI stuff is WAY much more complicated than a stupid fly-robot that compare wingclapping with height achivement.
No, you can see 2 planes (2d) with 1 camera, and 4 planes with 2 cameras. The difference between the two 2d views creates the third plane in a 3d environment.
If you're able to receive feedback from it then it's not write-only. It doesn't matter if the feedback comes in the form "a match with current data" or if it feedbacks the data itself, it still isn't write only.
No, a write only memory is a "dead end" device. You have no use for it at all. If there is no feedback (read possibility) and then -> "the more common term" for it is a "terminator" which destroys all inputs, since there is no way of getting that info back, and use it for anything.
If a printer prints a write only document, how could you know if the printer works? I mean, if you in no way whould be able to read what it has printed?
Okay, first they raise the bits, then they go over to alternative media, neurons ans such. And in about 100 years they have reinvented what we already have billions of -> Human brains. Then they ask themself, why did we invest all this money on this when we had it all the time?.
You could be sure to say that the Memory development line isn't exactly following Moores law. But that's okay tough, since that wasn't Moores intension.
I don't get it. When looking at the code it seems like it's not even using a scripting engine. I thought that was rule #1 to create an easy extensible strategy game.

"the Internet, at its ugliest, is just an open sewer: an electronic conduit for untreated, unfiltered information."
Since most I know I've learned from Internet, my brain must be full off unfiltered intelligence:).
But seriously, I think that has a positive sideeffect, because you have to develope your own filter, which isn't even close to standard (Radio, Television) filters.
They did not just "...went looking through a huge pile of earthquake data just to find two seismic events that happened soon after the other...". (look at the nice figures if you're to lazy to read it)
And by the way, it's only a theory which got blown up by media, don't blame the scientists for anything, I'm sure they're just doing their job.
ha, since when did RIAA advertise for www.babylonx.com, a new major sponsor?

I find more interesting stuff in the codes at this place:
LEET war

When we switch to metric time we could hit two bugs in one smash by switching language to Esperanto too.

I buy a Lego Mindstorms kit when it's possible to create a selfcontrolled lawnmover robot with it. And it should be able to cut my hair too.

Sorry, I wasn't looking hard enough. There actually WAS a scripting engine there.
