The first thing I thought upon reading the headline, War of Omission. http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/o/kevin-odonnell-jr/war-of-omission.htm

  2. Voice Dialing on Cell Phone For the Blind? · · Score: 2, Informative

Some phones have voice recognition. I have an older LG VX5200 on Verison that has this feature, I press a button easily found on the side, and it asks for a command. The phone itself is otherwise not fat-thumb friendly. Lookup "Voice Dialing (Speaker-independent (automatic))" http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/

  3. Re:PC weather tools on The Future of Free Weather Data on the Internet · · Score: 1

Weather Watcher is screen scraping weather.com's information. It does not use any NWS data. Now, If I could get a nice acting tool that uses NWS METAR for the PC, I'd be touting it.

And no, I do not think your being trollish. Though you got a few location names and stuff goofed up.

Magic Mountian: a Park in Southern California, owned by Six Flags. Space Mountian: a ride at vairous Disney parks.

    Epcot IS a Disney effort.

And yes, the themeing at the Diensy Florida parks were something that I didnt expect to be so poor when I saw it a few months ago, BUT Disneyland (the California Park) has themeing and consinstancy that match what you saw at Florida Universal Studios.

  7. Re:"good technology outdone by better marketing" on Sony Kills Betamax · · Score: 1

None of the articles for the past 20 years actually said why Beta was the superior format. One big point is the head rotation in relation to the tape movement. Simply put, in order to get better analog recording (for example, cassettes, 8tracks, reel to reel), you increase the relative speed past the heads. With VHS, the longer the recording time, slower the heads moved past the tape (longer play, lower resolution). With Beta, the longer the recording time, the (relativly) faster the heads moved past the tape (longer play, higher effective resolution, ending with the final results being relativly little loss of resolution).
