I don't know what all the features on this new beast will be, but generally the lcd screen is there for setup PRIOR to flying. I fly sailplanes and I can tell you that if you take your eyes of the glider at altitude you may never see it again. I highly doubt there would be anything worth looking at on the screen while flying. Audible alarms and timer pings would be useful though.
So, I'm guessing the gui is there to help you setup your model. This can actually get quite complicated so a gui might be nice. I know that navigating my Futaba 9C menus can be confusing if I haven't used it for a bit.
Why the heck was this modded flamebait? Lemme guess, it had the words "religious" and "Catholic" and made a good point that we don't want to talk about.
Ummm... That holds true for any language. I can write incomprehensable, undocumented, code in perl or C. I can also write clean, easy to understand code in perl or C. It's not the language, it's the person writting the code that makes the difference.
if you are going to spend all that time/energy/money on a lunar habitat, why not go the extra "mile" and go to Mars instead? Sure it's farther, but it would seem to have more resources for the people who have to become self sufficient. Maybe you won't be able to beam back power to earth from there, but I think as far as human achievements go, it would be more beneficial.
I guess you didn't read the last sentence. Froth away if you like, I was just trying to point out that it's not fear but concern (whether misguided or not is obviously going to be up for debate).
I don't think most conservatives are "fearful of playing god", but more likely are concerned about some of the ramifications of these new technologies. Fetal stem cells are a hot debate because some believe that the unborn have the same rights as the born. It's got nothing to do with the technology per se, but the possible killing of children who have no say in the matter. You can froth on about whether you believe one side or the other, but generally when people of whatever stripe believe that rights are being trampled on they get rightfully upset and demand some sort of safty mechanisms for those they believe to be denied of rights.
The following is my take on it:
Nobody created God. God is. Or put another way, God is not composed of "matter". Everything in our universe is composed of the "matter" that God has created. (Matter in this sense including energy/waves/etc). As humans we try to explain everything in terms of the "matter" around us since that is all we know. Since God cannot be defined by the "matter" that He created, we humans sometimes dismiss Him as a figment of our imaginations, etc.
I agree that if you try to define God in terms of the matter that the universe is composed of you end up in a circular argument.
Science is merely man coming to understand how the universe was created by God.
End of story. Athiests/agnostics/non-believers/etc just remove the last two words in the above sentence. I find the whole thing easier to swallow with the last two words included. If you leave them off, you end up with a unanswerable question of "created by whom/what".
My opinion of people who try to play science as something totally opposite of God are merely making science their god. Since science is an evolving understanding, it would seem to be a harder god to follow.
Just my $0.02
(I'll put my asbestos underpants on now:)
Maybe it's just me, but it drives me crazy when the success of a movie is measured by the amount of sales in dollars. I don't know what it's like in the rest of the world, but up here in the Great White North (ie. Canada) movie ticket prices have soared to the $13 (CAN) range. That is about triple what I payed when I was a kid (and I ain't THAT old). I guess the hype would be lost if they reported actual "bums in seats".
One interesting data point may be that when certain types of commercials start, couch potato X starts flipping channels. When other types start, the channel stays put. Of course this could be about as useful as slashdot polls unless they also place sensors in your couch to make sure you haven't waddled off to the fridge.

What happens if someone has 'hacked' your machine and used it to cause a DOS attack? Are you going to be held responsible as well?

I can see it now... "Go left! No right! No LEFT! Aw crap, no more wings left..."

The first company to pitch an idea using the words "nano", "tech", "green", and "anti-terrorist" will likely have no problem getting funding. :)
