Let me get this, even though this is more about government censorship and a rather trivial issue at best, the republican are crying foul but by their own free market approach this would be the logical outcome, the industry would regulate themselves yielding the optimal result. How about if they focus their faux moral outrage at more important issues such as the health care or the environment.
There are alot of excellent open source project that have very good commercial potential. I remember alot of small startup gaming companies developed free mod for half life not because they were bored but they see it as a way to develop a customer base and as a mean to develop a commercial product.
Its been suggested that Dell and Sony had know about the battery problem for up to 10 months. Imagine if this had happened on a plane. This could've hurt them beyond their financial outcome.
Why don't these artist release their album independently of the record company ? If anything, the internet should allow the facilitation of the shift in how music is being distributed. I am surprised that there aren't more companies that is trying to take business away from the tradition CD selling music distributors by offering better deals with the artist and specialising in internet distribution.
Inevitably, this issue will come up. Traditionally, if your credit card or bank card is compromised, you can simply cancel it and acquire a new one but what about biomatric data used for identification ?
