An SSH client for a mobile phone would indeed be nice, but I personally wouldn't want to do massive amounts of administrative work on the so called keyboard of a mobile phone. Writing SMS messages is awkward enough already even though it has the predictive text feature on it. Think of what it would be like to enter line after line of cryptic *nix commands on it.
I will, however, admit that it would be an easy way to brag about your uptime amidst your friends without the need to have physical access to the computer.
It's actually quite a good question, and I would believe that even if currently there is no support for Linux, the PsiLinux project will eventually get Linux running on it. More information about running Linux on Psion PDAs is available at the aforementioned site.
But it still doesn't stop the tech support guys from making fun of you and laughing at you. And they will still put your story on n+1 different web sites where they mock you.
Looks like AOL is just outsourcing browser development and saving a buck or two by not having to pay the salaries for in-house development. By outsourcing, they can also just stand by and see what happens and eventually pick the fruit by using whatever browser comes out on top.
True, but with the current competition between mobile phone operators (at least in Finland) you can quite easily switch from operator to operator without that much cause. That actually happened a while ago with the "war car".
