    Nothing, what is wrong with the MIME syntax used in HTTP?

    The actually implementation and use may suck, but it could be cleaned to something more consistent without throwing everything else away as well.

    Btw, You get almost all the speedup SPDY provides by just using HTTP 1.1 and pipelining. Only reason it is not done more is because it is hard to predict if it will be supported probably, but you could make that a requirement for HTTP 1.2 for instance, solving the problem.

    There is ancient talk of an area called Scania, the same area is still called Scania. But the scandinavian peninsula is a modern name, and Scandinavia itself is defined as a political term for Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with Denmark not being on the peninsula.

    The Scandinavian peninsula is named after Scandinavia, not the other way around. Scandinavia doesn't cover all of the peninsula, and the peninsula does not cover all of Scandinavia.

    Depending on the definition Iceland is included because it was part of Denmark when Scandinavia was defined in the 1800s as Denmark, Norway as Sweden, on top of that they have Scandinavian culture and language.

    It would if it was actually possible. The moon will leave Earths orbit when it gets far enough away, at that point it becomes a huge motherfucking asteroid.

    To be accurate, both Pluto and Charon orbit their common center of gravity. Just like the Earth and Moon orbit their common center of gravity, or like any two other orbiting objects.

    Yeah, but the common center of gravity of the Earth and the Moon, is _inside_ the Earth, which means the Moon orbits a point inside Earth (just not the center), which is what makes it a satellite or moon of Earth.

      In the case of Pluto and Charon the common center of gravity is between them and not inside either of them, which means none of them is a moon to the the other, but they share a common co-orbit.

    Actually Pluto & Co. only has 4 moons, Charon is not a moon, it is co-dwarf planet, in that Pluto orbits around Charon just as much as Charon orbits Pluto.

    Spending all the income on bonuses to the executives and window dressing, sounds in every way exacly like running it as a business. Running it as a business is what they should move away from, which is why charities dominated by volunteers are so much more efficient.

    No, maybe you are thinking of the council of ministers, which is a separate organ, but even then you would be wrong. The European Commission is made up of people _appointed_ by the executive branch of each member state. As such they do represent the traditional head of government. but not the head of state! Who gives a shit what the queen thinks?

    No European organ is made up of the heads of state, the kings and queens of Europe, because frankly: What would be the point?

    Unfortunately I think the EP is a little hindered in their power over individual commissioners, they can only fire the entire commission, not single individuals. Doing that requires requires grand standing and a game of chicken between the EC and the EP.

    Where does a wave on the ocean go? The "particles" are manifestation of a particle(or force) field, which is like an ocean with waves on it. These waves are called particles when they collide and collapse with something else, but are otherwise waves when they move around on the ocean. There is always some waves on the ocean but not always high enough waves to break over the sea-barrier. The sea barrier in this case is 125GeV.

    Bending space is just a fancy mathematical way of reformulating the effect of a force. Similar to reformulating that the train is moving at 100 mph towards you or that you is moving at 100mph towards the train.

    That gravity bends space is nothing but a convenient mathematical construction, it doesn't actually mean anything other than affecting all other forces as well.

    Yes and no, photon has no mass at rest, but photon never rest. When moving they have the effective mass of their kinetic energy.

    I think this is obvious to Computer Scientists, some Philosophers are slowly grasping it as well, but many still believe free will and determinism are related. In fact it is in Philosophy considered such a standard view that the opposite view is the one that has a special term: Compatibalism, that a deterministic world is compatible with free will.

    Actually you can get more of it. The ozone layer is thinner in the north. So sun-screen is even more important, even when it is not that hot.

    You are too used to focus follows mouse. Many window managers eat the focus click specifically so you can safely click anywhere, of course some people dislike that as well, so it is another of those fun X11 behaviour debates :)

    No. Apple's case was that the chip-manufacturer had already paid the license and that Nokia was double dipping. So there was a difference in how much Apple would pay and what Nokia demanded. Nokia demanded something, and Apple offered to pay nothing.

    The end settlement is secret, but seeing as Nokia has not been counter-sued by Apple it probably contains a cross-license agreement on top of $x per iPhone.

    windows phone 7 is ALSO being replaced by Windows Phone 8, without any upgrade patch.

    There is an upgrade patch. It is called WP 7.8 and unlike WP 8, it will actually be designed to run on WP 7 hardware.

    Rising unemployment will lead to more socialism, not less. The more people are unemployed and destitute, the more people will vote for a government that promises to look after them (socialism) rather than throwing them to the wolves.

    Don't be too sure about that. They also start to favour religion more and blindly following politicians that promise to do miracles. All in all, politics gets pretty random and confusing when the shit hits the fan. Take a look at recent Greek elections for examples.

    The point is the functionality exists, just not with the old --geometry hack. Just right click on any window and set window-specific behavior. There is a nice gui for what you want, so the functionality is perfectly available to anyone who cares. Though I admit supporting backwards compatibility would have been nice,

    Well, the cable is not really called VGA, it is called D-Sub I think. It is just commonly referred to as a VGA-cable. It has the advantage that it can drive any bandwidth, it just needs to be thicker or shorter to do so with signal loss. It is true about DACs, but you easily get a good DAC by buying high-end graphics card (which you need anyway for games at that res), or for desktop use a few year old high-end graphics card which can be very cheap because it is no longer fast enough for games, but the DAC on it doesn't get outdated that fast :)

    Actually monitors dither too, most LCD-screens only support 6 bit of _one_ color in each dot, and then dither that to simulate 24 bit colors. Most IPS screens support 8 bit of color in each dot, but many of them dither that to pretend to support 10bit per color.
