And everyone else is legally entitled to not give them support or to even call them a homophobic, chauvinistic organization whose primary purpose is to feed fresh meat into the grinder called the US military.
Giving up copyright? You mean the option to give up copyright to the FSF? It's an option, asshole. You're perfectly free not to take it. Hundreds of people don't.
The GPL is more free than a standard copyright situation, which doesn't allow copying at all. Stop the bullshit.
Fair. However, I question the wisdom of elevating protesting and testimony to the level of treason (which is what "aid or comfort to the enemies thereof" means). Brings to mind the Sedition Acts.
That would require asking the library for the records, which is a completely different thing. We're talking about the feasibility of tracking someone's reading history by checking the cards in the books.
'While I agree that racism is little more than "barn-yard prejudice", and avoid racial slurs as indicative of an inferiour mind, I rather doubt that Richard would fight to defend anyone saying Nigger over the airwaves. Or defend someone for offering up an waaaay conservative politcal agenda.'
Eh, "nigger" isn't censored. Ever watch Chappelle's Show? It's not just black people saying it, either. I think the record will show that civil libertarians have defended the right to racist or far-right speech as much as the right to "liberal" speech.
GTK+/Win looks fine nowadays, especially with the native skin. I know lots of people that happily use Gaim without knowing it's in a different toolkit.
You're an idiot. Most languages, like LISP, use prefix notation:
C: f(a, b, c) LISP: (f a b c)
They only differ slightly. Anyone who can't transfer that notation on to mathematical operators like + shouldn't be anywhere near a programming language.
"The robot would just have to be equipped with a visual model of itself in memory,"
Which would be a simple self-concept.
Also, you're confusing sentient with sapient:
sentient, adj.
1. Having sense perception; conscious: "The living knew themselves just sentient puppets on God's stage" (T.E. Lawrence).
2. Experiencing sensation or feeling.
That's definitely number three for me. There's essentially no quality Flash material out there, and there's a lot of really horrible shit.

Vim is not going to have multiple windows in the OS X or any other build. It would require a significant rewrite of the entire editor, according to the docs.
The GPL does not require an EULA. The only significance the GPL has to the end user is the disclaimer of warranty, which is not a contractual issue at all, but rather a notice.
No splash screen should be necessary, either. It's not an end-user issue at all.
You're forgetting email and solitaire. Both of those are omnipresent on Windows desktops, too. Usually concurrently with the other apps you mentioned.
Oh, they can. Legally, they can.

Because you don't want to fuck the users just so some art-school wankers can get exactly the look they want?
I'm sure at least some people in Chinatown watch Chappelle's Show.
Would it insert ads into all your files?
Nobody ever got killed from playing video games. I can't say the same for motorcycles and boats.
Video games are worthy entertainment for all ages.

You know who else lost in Iowa and New Hampshire? Bill Clinton. Losing in Iowa doesn't mean you're going to lose the primary.
Dumb-looking. Only an Apple bigot could judge a functional piece of hardware based on its appearance.

Yes, a terrible 3rd-world country with a life expectancy exceeding the United States'.
It's just your garden-variety capital-fascist. Might makes Right, Nietzsche, man on horseback, Rand, etc.
Care to back that up with some evidence?
You know, voting is a public service too. Maybe that shouldn't be private either?
And you'd have to check out every book in the library to research someone's checkout history that way. Don't be absurd.

On the other hand, Dillo doesn't have CSS or SSL support yet, either.
Because OS/2's Windows compatibility was based off Microsoft source code.
