I never upgrade components anymore because it just became too expensive. Anytime I upgraded more than 2 or 3 things I felt compelled to build a machine just to put the old parts in and ended up just spending more and more money. I now have 5 machines at the house and I've supplied machines to most of my family members for cheap. Sure I recovered some of the costs by selling them the old machines but I never recovered all of my expenses and I eventually ran out of family members =)
and if you think that there aren't any "screwy" local laws/ordinances in other countries then I have a bridge in San Fransisco that I'll sell ya for cheap. If you really want to see some crazy laws you should look at some of the Muslim or Asian countries. Sure in Oklahoma it's illegal to get a fish drunk, but I'd say that's pretty inconsequential compared to villages in countries where the punishment for talking to someone outside of your class is for your sister to be gang raped.
I keep getting called a conservative when the fact is I'm a libertarian. Both parties want to take something from me. The Dems want my guns and the Reps want my porn. Thing is my guns are more important to me so who you think I'm going to vote for until there's a viable alternative? I actually wouldn't mind if Edwards was the Dem candidate because I might have to give him a hard look. I voted for Bush but I have no problem criticizing him for many of the things he's done (immigration policy and out of control spending) but I want the playing field to be somewhat level in these debates. If grades matter to you then fine, but if you say they matter one year and don't the next I'm going to call you out on it. Same with military service and integrity. If you say Bush has no integrity and he's not fit to lead then you better have said that when Clinton was in office. I'm tired of all these ideologues and I honestly get a kick out of baiting them because it's just soooo easy.
How are Bush's grades in college on topic? If you're going to attack someone for being off topic maybe you should go back to the lib that thinks that Bush's grades are in anyway relevant to this discussion.
Labelling it Clinton's Recession is misleading I agree but usually when referring to a recession by President then you have to attribute it to the President who was in office at the beginning of the downturn and not the person who inheritted it.
How many times have you seen a study come out that says eating chocolate and nothing but chocolate is bad for you or some other such crap? How much of my tax dollars are spent each your to study the burps of cows and other nonsense? I have no problem with cancer research or alternative energy research and things of that nature but you and I both know that there is a lot of money mis-spent in the science community.
to change the rules every 4 years to fit his agenda. Gore was the only alternative and to pretend that he has nothing to do with anything is just silly. You can't say "your guy got bad grades" when the man you supported faired no better in school. If Gore's grades didn't matter back in 2000 when you voted for him why should Bush's matter to anyone now?
We should just blindly follow people whose existence relies almost completely on my tax dollars. It's not in their best interest to raise taxes and increase the size of government at all. Riiiiiiight...
You know you can send them money right?
"During the Bush recession..."
When did the recession begin? Oh nevermind, I wouldn't want to bother you with fact like the economy was in a downturn when Clinton left office. And there was the little thing that happened on 9/11 that changed everything.
"Read my lips, Tax rises are inevitable."
How long is that sustainable? Are you a communist? Sounds like your plan will get us there eventually.
So you can complain about Bush when your alternative was no better? That's like the people who voted for Clinton over Dole making a big deal about military service now.
FDR's deficits were much larger in proportion to GDP no matter how you cut it. How do so many Dems go through life with no basic understand of macroeconomics?
I agree, but to blame any one person or party for the entire national debt is just plain wrong. If you consider how much the Dem candidates want to spend if elected the deficits will keep on coming.
National Debt and Budget deficits aren't the same thing. In 1994 the national debt was $4,692,749,910,013.32. In 1950 the Debt was down to zero. How many years did the Republicans control congress from 1954 to 1994? Let me answer that for you. Zero!
How much of the national debt was accumulated during Democrat controlled congresses and the interest on said debt? Let us all know when you come up with that number. I have a feeling I won't be hearing back from you in a long long time.
To use numbers without regard to inflation or their relation to GDP makes no sense. But then again the adjusted numbers don't validate your percieved "reality" so you choose to ignore them.
"I can't believe people are so blinded by their political ideologies that they are actually trying to excuse the shameful behavior these people were involved in..."
Funny. I think that's exactly what the execs at Dieblod said.
Actually... when I'm at work I understand that it is not my personal computer so I don't use it for anything that might be used against me in that way. We aren't talking about people's homes here. When you are at work you should understand that anything you do on company time using company resources can be reviewed by your employer. In this case the employer is the people and all the property in question is payed for by the taxpayer. As far as I know all the information released was related to government business too. Can you show me where anything released was personal information?
from land that's owned by the taxpayers then I'll stop calling for my representatives to represent my interest when it comes to said equipment.

Actually, I give congress credit.

I guess it all just depends on your definition of "is" and "grades" and "muddy".

The number is big and it should be an issue but when compared to GDP the deficit isn't nearly as bad as people here are trying to make it out to be.

So you can build a better laptop than Dell for less $$$? Teach me please.
That's what I was thinking. The last machine I setup was secure when I took it out of the box too. Right up until I plugged it into a network that is.
That was his point. Not many people know anything about it.
