In the future, a new licensing model might help artists get compensated for their work, the very purpose of copyright, but first, we need to get the parasites out of the recording industry. To do that, we must boycott their products.
This film was in the public domain, and the edit of it was indeed produced by Dastar. They can put their names on it, but so can anyone. Disney takes fairy tales and legends from the public domain, and puts their names on them without giving credit to Hans Christain Anderson, The Brothers Grimm, or their other sources. How is this any different. Now that the House and Senate are past the November elections, why don't they repeal the Patriot act, and scale back all the post 9/11 reactionary crap in the Homeland Security Act. Just establishing an oversight board isn't enough.

It is doubtful that any action will be taken against these companies, ans the states just don't have the balls to take on big business, but at least Kansas rejected deregulation.
