Well said. There are always fringe opinions, and I'd rather have the choice of listening to them than have the government tell me if I can listen or not.
...Of course, then you get into the problem of having kids with malliable minds listen to 'wrong' opinions. A slight connundrum, but easily solved if parents at least pay attention to their kids.
When I last used freenet (three or four months ago), there were a few portals/freenet-spiders linked in the main UI. They've got a whole lot of links and information. I managed to find a copy of the Matrix pretty quickly (less than an hour of random link clicking), and the download speeds were reasonable, just a bit slower than other p2p networks. Sometimes it is hard to find stuff, but it's not painfully difficult, you just have to be patient on your first few outings.
If I remember correctly, Cryptome deletes all their traffic logs after a day or two to prevent that sort of thing. I don't think there's anything stopping the Freenet Project from doing the same.
Really? It's probably just my computer, but I'd have to be compiling it at run time and have it reniced to 10 or so to notice any slowdown. You've got a good point tho. Mozilla is pretty slow on older hardware.
Yeah, they could have been split up, but that's not my point. When a very public lawsuit happens, a majority of the individual users will continue doing what they were doing, unless forced to do otherwise. In a corporate environment, much more money is at stake, and however frivolous the lawsuit, the stakes are still too high to take risks based on said lawsuit's outcome.
Forgot to mention this, but I do apologize. I don't know enough about the history of marsupials or the development of the eye to directly comment on either.
Insightful question, a whole lot better than the usual 'If evolution's true, why are monkeys still around?' sort of question. However, I'm slightly confused. You are right that evolution is apparently and inexplicably random, but you also seem to be asking for proof to backup the theory of evolution. Sorry, that was badly worded. You ask for proof to support the theory of evolution, but you accept creation without any? I don't mean to troll, but could you point to a paper or two with proof that explicitly details intellegent creation?
The more devout believers of certain segments of Christianity believe that the Earth is less than 6000 years old, if I remember it correctly. Dinosaurs are usually said to be older than that, and they therefore contradict certain Christian teachings.
I've noticed problems too, but then again, you should send that complaint to whoever's in charge of that chunk of the 2.4.x tree. Most of the rest of us are talking about how great 2.5.x is over 2.4. It seems to me as though you are complaining about problems that have already been fixed. Perhaps you should try out the 2.6 test?
It's definitely got to be a phrasing disagreement, because you both seem to be saying the same thing. Quarterly profits and weekly stock prices may be short term, but corporations are usually looking at maintaing a status quo while also striving for constant growth. It's an interesting situation in any case.
Good points, but those are almost entirely home/small business markets, where individuals are buying what they want to buy. In a corporate environment, even the slightest possibility of a lawsuit can change the management's decisions. Fortunately, cooler heads seem to be prevailing (for once, woohoo), and you may be right. Hopefully nothing big and nasty will come of this.
High Density Lipoproteins : Vertical Content Shifter Widget:: Good (or was it bad?) Cholesterol : Scroll bar
It's a matter of degrees. The doctor can say "There's good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. You have too much of the bad kind" to almost anyone and expect them to understand. "Scroll bar" is just as easy, unless you need something like "small, light grey box within a long darker grey box on the right side of the screen" to describe it.
Tell us more grandpa! Tell us about the time you wrestled and maintained 8 AIX servers single-handedly from your homebuilt Linux box! Or about the time Linus got lost and asked you for directions and you went on a whirlwind big-city adventure!
I've been using the various revisions of the 2.5 series for a few months now. You would not believe how much more responsive X is. Well, you might, but that's not the point.;) It's been great, disk i/o is a bit faster, and the only problems I've had were with binary-only drivers.
Who, Ashcroft? Or was that Thurmon?

It would take even longer to scrub my brain after downloading it.

I'm counfused. Are you saying that Stalin and Hitler were purely fictional characters?

Subtle. Nice one.

slap me please. I forgot to click the small grey rectangle marked 'Preview' to make sure my post was formatted correctly.

It depends really. Most are just ostracized and can make it up at the pearly gates. If you're Southern Baptist, tho...that's a different story.
This is simultaneously both the most pointless and the coolest post ever to be on the front page.

Why yes. Yes it was. It's quite tasty too.

I doubt it. That sounds too much like a bad fast food sandwich.
While "Unrgrateful Day" seems easier to say, yours does have that added bit of accuracy. How about a merger? "Fuck Off Ungrateful Puritans Day"
And happy "Ungrateful Day" to everyone in England!
