What do they mean 'evolved'? I think that several school boards across the country will agree with me when I say that the toads did not evolve, they were 'improved' by a 'designer.'
Can't say I agree with you. Look at our recent elections -- winners have won through largely anti-intellectual platforms. Of course, they haven't done it overtly, but through portraying themselves as common, simple people and by portraying intelluctuals as untrustworthy.
Or is it just a pretty thing of questionable usability that slows down my computer and/or takes up lots of resources?
(Not intended as a flame, btw -- I'd really like to hear some opinions on using it.)
Is the person responsible for the rockin' theme music to the last Star Trek series. That would be cool.
Or at least a soundscape with some vocals:
You are using Microsoft Windows, Yay!
Is this a happy day?
But don't copy stuff
'Cuz crime don't pay.
What do they use to rip the CDs? Do they encode them with LAME? Do they run them through mp3gain for you? What is the quality of the final output? This comparison seems only to compare options, not the final product. Too bad.
This is strange -- they already give $ to Mozilla

Google to Buy Opera?

I've been looking all over for them! In all of my pants pockets, in my door, between the couch cushions. How did they get to the edge of the solar system?
Or so it seems sometimes. I hope they do DC soon, as it's a pain switching back and forth between google maps and wmata.com's site. It would be cool if they could work more public transportation and pedestrian info into Google Maps too, especially in major cities where driving a car is one of the least efficient ways to get around.
I agree with you at least in part. I used Mac OS 7 alongside Windows '95 for a couple of years, and then OS X alongside Windows 2000, both on a daily basis. Some things may be a bit easier on a Mac (and look sexier), but for most tasks I'm more comfortable in Windows. Neither Win2k or OS X crashes on me - ever. I think that some of the Mac zealots get a bit carried away (hence the name) when talking about how much easier a Mac is. All in all, I think it's a draw.
I have no idea about comparison to linux, though. Never used it.
Why don't they change things that are more of a pain -- like the value of pi, or find another way of doing logarithms, or the roots of things.
I would really appreciate that! Thanks in advance, scientist dudes!
But more seriously, I think that the real benefits of the program are probably a lot broader and far-reaching than what was stated in the article. It was inspiring. It got kids interested in space. It helped Reagan beat the communists.
Also, it paved the way for one of the most difficult Estes model rockets ever, as well as one of the best Simpsons episodes of all time. "Look out. They're ruffled!"

According to the site, it is a "Gecko based native Mac OS X browser." How is it different from Firefox?
All I get when I go to that page is the page header and a screen full of white.
I'd guess it's because of their wings. (Just a guess from a total nonscientist.)

Ben Goodger is being paid by google to work on Firefox... http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/ben/archives/007366 .html

Perhaps they wish to buy (and then bury) the Opera browser?
Perhaps the management of Encyclopaedia Britannica should make the same suggestion?

That their practice of using apostrophe's to indicate multiple CD's is very distracting, and is spreading to other place's. Thank you!

What's wrong with that?

Antivirus software that didn't expire, novice computer users would be much better off.
I feel for the shuttle program.

You're right -- Shatner's "Common People" does kick ass.
He's so clever.
Dead pixels on a tombstone would be terribly tacky. Does the manufacturer have a return policy?
My video would be of me banging desperately on the glass, yelling "Let me out! I'm not dead yet!"
It should start with: Is your boss a man?
That would make the rest of it make more sense.
... so perhaps growing grass on Mars has been in the planning for a while now.
So many of these sites have them. Maybe I'm blind, but a screenshot of OS X running on a PC looks identical to OS X running on a Mac.
Maybe the hacking is being done by the same folks that review hardware and feature endless shots of the packaging it comes in.
