  1. And who's going to teach them? on France Passes Harsh Three-Strikes Legislation, Again · · Score: 1

"They have to keep their connection secure". Hmm...And how are they (the normal Joe Six-pack) supposed to do that? How do they know to make it secure? Will somebody offer training courses? Will somebody issue a certificate: "You are allowed to connect to the internet"? I would love to see that happening but the chances are obviously slim. I would love the OEMs to be responsible for training their customer: "You sir, if you wanna buy this shiny new computer, and want to connect it to the internet, must present a proof that you are capable of securing your connection". But, obviously, this won't happen :(.

While the application might be portable to Mono if you're writing in .NET, the problem with .NET is, (IMO), that is still a young technology. java is been there for quite some time now, is stable, there is more documentation for it, it is basically a proven technology. Health care is known for not embracing new and unproven technology. And this is understandable, you can't afford a system problem when there are people lifes at stake. If you want them to buy from you, give them something rock solid, something build on a proven technology.
The servers might be Sun's or IBM's, the workstation might run Windows, you ccan create web based or desktop application, you basically have choices. Just to make them feel on a secure ground.

Well, being such an curious person, I wanted to see what is this BSD thing. And i got my hands on 5.2 REALEASE and gave it a shot. Well, i was surprised. It is very different from linux (not just another tool for the job, but the arhitectural thing is diferent). It seemed to me that it really runs faster, it's more responsive. While i compiled various applications from ports, the cpu was at 100%, but whenever i issued a command, it was executed instantly. I must say, that this does not happen in linux. Probablly i have used linux more, and I know its ups and downs, and in freebsd i have only seen the ups in such a short time, but man ... I love it. I really do.

But it doesn't mean that it really expands. Only we *think* it does. I think scientist could get over the facts that you see, and the facts that can be, only need to be proven to be out there.
