Hee hee... The title of this thread gave me the mental picture of a pile of disparate electronic components slowly moving toward each other under their own power and merging to form the Ultimate Gaming Device.
A couple months ago I met a PUD meter reader in Seattle with one of these things... the city had recieved several of them to try out. He demonstrated its curb-hopping and turning abilities to myself and several others. It's no dirt bike, but those big wheels can take it over standard sized curbs pretty easily. According to the guy the Segway didn't save him a lot of time on his route, but it was more fun than just walking... and a real conversation starter, which probably helped slow him down a bit.

An Engineering Laboratory Technician... an enlisted nuclear chemist and radiological controls technician. If you have a spill of readioactive fluid, get yo'self one or two, they'll whine but they'll take care of the problem.

Not where I come from... oh the "rack at sea" comment I'll go with, but we always felt lucky to get out before 2 in the afternoon in port. Of course, that was on the most evil ship on the waterfront, the EVILprise. Maybe it's better elsewhere.
