  1. Re:Hmm, e-bay on Video Projector for Home Theater? · · Score: 1

curt pulma or pulmer i think is his name. i know a few people that have bought projectors from him, he is honest and he knows his stuff. he'll tell you how much wear on is on the tubes, how many hours you should be able to get out of them, ect. ect. you can find his stuff on ebay or get on his email list - he sends out lists of all the projectors he has or has recently aquired every now and then. if you talk to him directly you can have him totally rebuild a projector for you, great value on the dollar when you buy his stuff.

as a side note he gets most of his stuff from big companies or colleges that are sell these things really cheap. if you are little more abitious check out your local universtiy.

  2. is it still hacking when... on AOL Hacks Subscribers' Computers · · Score: 1

it is part of an update to their software? i mean it is not like they have 10 guys in a room hacking into all their customers computers, this is an AOL software update, an executable that thier customers are agreeing to install on their machines when they download it or click "yes" to update now or whatever it is that they do to get the update. "but they still don't have the right to change my settings!" why not? every software you install on your machine changes settings. video card express installs modify the windows registry, video games usually update direct x for you, and not to mentional all of them are creating folders and files on your machine. its not illegal - you agreed to it. i know some proprietary email servers that when you install them they look to see if microsoft's SMTP service that comes with IIS is running and if it is, disable it. its fun to think to AOL is hacking its customers but i don't think that is the case here.

  3. What if...? on Ready, Steady, Evolve · · Score: 1

evolution itself was part the universal design of things. i am not going to say a peep about where the universe came from or why it is the way it is but however it got here it does show unmistakeable signs that by its very design life will exist. the way solar systems form and the chemicals that make up all life being natural products of physical events in the universe. would it be a stretch to say that evolution does happen but certain traits of life are preprogrammed into the way the chemicals that comprise life react?

i think this idea of stored up evolution just points more in that direction. the importance of which being that there are other worlds in the universe like ours, and more importantly on those worlds are lifeforms very similar to our own. i bet all of our higher level classifications could still fit all the life we might find on an alien plannet. and i bet "humans" (or at least other intelegent life in the same family) do exist elsewhere, why? because it is by design.

i think the evolutionists will eventually find that evolution is a function of mutation, but that these mutations, although determined largly by probability, are not totally random.

why is everyone so worried about being a so called "money whore" or sellout. are any one of you going to tell me that if someone doubled your salary to do the same thing you wouldn't take it? its one thing if you make over a million a year its another for all of us normal people making less than six digets. that is capatalism, there is nothing wrong seeking top dollar for you abilities, there is nothing wrong bargining or encouraging bidding for you services if they are in high demand. we are cattle on the market place of labor and we have to sell ourselves. i for one am going to try to get the most i can for my skills!
