I'd be glad to volunteer an access point. I'd just need to buy a wireless router. I've had dreams for years of creating a LAN across my town. That would definately kick some ass.
As you can tell from below, the parent post is not just ON-topic, it IS the topic of many people. Whatever idiot moderator modded this post down should be ashamed.
Reminds me of the old Windows 1.0 days... Looked just like that, except not as advanced. This looks pretty cool/useful,if you're going to be using console. Personally, console always holds a special place in my heart. =D
I used to make so many jokes about Canada, and not even think about going there. But, after the past few years of US legislation, I'm now seriously considering moving there. I'd prefer to live in a country where police can't arrest you and keep you in jail for no reason. A good movie to illustrate the good side of Canada is 'Bowling for Columbine'. It's one of the main reasons I'm thinking about moving.
I meant the original 0.1 kernel, obviously not everything up until now.
Serves them right

I like the worlds-smallest-violin dept.
It fits this perfectly. Nobody's going to feel sorry for SCO, claiming that somehow Linux is based off of their code. I remember seeing that map of the *nix's by SCO, that was totally made up. Perhaps someone should tell them that Linus wrote it from scratch...
I'm on the web development team for my high school, and I've been trying ever since my Junior year to get the admins to allow us to install Linux on ONE or both of our web development machines, which are dedicated to us. They refuse under the pretenses that Linux presents a security hazard, and that they are not qualified to administer anything besides Windows NT. God I hate stupid people...
Actually if you watch it for about 10 min, you get used to watching the moving ascii. I can actually view text movies fairly easily. Also, try backing up farther away from the screen.
Will Intel concede to the AMD x86-64 architecture, or will they try to branch out on their own idea? (HINT: 2nd one is a bad idea... just look at the first "64 bit" itanium)
I've thought about this before, and I really think that I write OSS as a hobby. I don't expect to get paid for it, it's just for the good of the open source community. That may sound a little goody-goody, but as long as I have a ton of free time, I'm glad to do it. I think the best way of doing OSS is to release everything free and open, and give the users the option to donate some money to the project if they feel it deserves payment. I know if I really like a certain software application, I'll be glad to give them a few dollars for their efforts.
No.. no... the virus not only downloaded the porn, but also used his credit card information to sign up for the site, confirmed his subscription via email, and initiated correspondance with Michael Jackson...

they're all congregating in one place now... easier to eradicate. =P

I think X should concentrate on making itself a better windowing system, instead of IPv6, which will take 5-10 years to be fully implemented...
Now that's what I'm talking about... hospitality. =)

I may just be a little slow, but the purpose of this is...?

nuff said.
The guy who's doing this, is doing it as a proof-of-concept, not for practical use. If you read the article, instead of flaming, you would know this.
Very good point, acceleration and the G-forces is what'll kill u.
I'd be interested to know if a human could survive these types of speeds. i.e. future planes/vehicles
oops, change Junior to Freshman sry

This post shouldn't be modded down that badly. I mean, this guy is giving his truthful opinion, albeit a wrong one... ;)
This post is the epitome of why there should be the option of complete post obliteration on slashdot...

They certainly don't support spelling...
Actually, I like the last guy's post... =)
I run Linux.
