I sure hope you're using a Dvorak or other not common keyboard type... I just hate to picture somebody using a regular keyboard, yet still managing to go out of their way to mistype "qwerty" :-) --- Emoticon added for humor impaired.

  2. Re:The Music on John Woo to Direct Spy Hunter Movie? · · Score: 4, Informative

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that they had initially wanted to use the James Bond theme as the music for Spy Hunter.

When that didn't happen, they used the theme from a spy TV show, "Peter Gunn."

The music was written by Henry Mancini... so it was sure a step above what most video games had.

  3. Re:They've killed Asimov on I, Robot Trailer Available · · Score: 5, Informative

The story is "Little Lost Robot." A portion of the NS-2 (or "Nestor") line of robots were made with a *PARTIAL* first law -- "No robot may harm a human being." It left out "or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm." That was so the robots weren't compelled to rush into the radiation chamber ina futile attempt to save the human in it. The other 2 laws were left intact.

Did you really read the article? Starbucks isn't getting priority. Nobody's getting priority. The free service is there, the Starbucks is there. No priority -- and that's where the problem comes in. Reading the articles helps to prevent you from making inane comments.

So... does this mean that Deep Blue has a better benchmark score than Gary Kasparov?

    Fascinating...

  6. Re:Seen this story before on Minority Report · · Score: 1

You mean "All the troubles of the world"?

Asimov based that on an ancient Greek myth of an Oracle (or something along those lines).

    SPOILER:

Essentially, Multivac becomes so powerful in its computing ability it can predict things -- even crimes -- before they happen. Humanity is at the point of even having Multivac predict who'll get sick, to help prevent the spread of diseases. Of course... not everyone (er... everyTHING) is happy with this turn of events.... ;)

  7. Re:Heh on "Living robot" Escapes Lab, Makes It To...Parking Lot · · Score: 1

Yeah, but at least reading 2010 makes for sense as a sequel than reading 3001 does.... 2010 is at least a sequel to the movie. 3001 is apparently a sequel to nothing in particular.... :)
