They're not even close to comparable. Apache has served me very well. My server is not even vulnerable to this as I don't have mod_deflate loaded or compiled. (I tested using the kill script.)
It's not a copy any more than the PAK-FA is a copy. Similar requirements in stealth lead to some similar-looking features, such as the outward canted stabilizers, the hard angle on the side of the fuselage, and the sawtooth shape on the forward and trailing edges of things like the landing gear doors, but the three aircraft are otherwise not the same. The J-20 isn't even the same general configuration as the F-22 or PAK-FA, being a canarded delta.
Where are you getting that they're unhappy with their government because they are having fun smashing things and taking things? Have any of them admitted to such feelings, or even to giving a shit about the government at all, or are you simply projecting your own feelings onto them?
...under Labour the prison population rose to it's highest ever level, a higher level than anywhere else in Europe. This was against a background of crime decreasing ever year under the British Crime survey...
Hypothetically speaking, what do you think the effect on the crime rate would be if more of the criminally-inclined part of the population were getting locked up?
You know that there's no naturally occurring antimatter that we can obtain to use for energy, right? So the only way we could ever acquire any would be by producing it, which is guaranteed to use more energy than we'd get from using it. So it's impossible to use antimatter for energy production.
If you don't understand this, I don't think you should be telling anyone how we're going to be producing our energy in the future.
Then why not show that in the stats? It makes me suspect that the sales were up somewhat - not much, but enough that it would distract from the point they were trying to make.
As for this American guy, well, he shouldn't have gone to Thailand if he's going to be linking banned books and posting excerpts. There's enough information on how Thailand's authorities view both the book and it's claims. Feeling sorry for him is like feeling sorry for the drug smugglers in a Bali prison, they knew the laws of the country, and if not, ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law.
No. He did that years ago, in the US, and he's a US citizen. Translating part of a book shouldn't ban you from a country forever. Equating what he did with smuggling drugs is absurd. You should kill yourself to make the world a better place.
You know there are other countries on the planet which don't have the DMCA, right? What's stopping people in those countries from doing that now? Or from hosting information on how to do it?
Nothing, that's what.
There is no guarantee that devices such as the Tivo will ever be cracked so that modified software can run on them, so without copyright, there's no legal way to force them to. Granted, there's no legal way to force them to now - unless they mistakenly include GPLv3 software on their device, like Boxee did.
Not only that, but distributing commented disassemblies isn't nearly as good as having the original source code, especially if the original source code is in a language higher level than C. (Try reverse-compiling C++, for instance.) The GPLv2 gives you something more than there simply being no copyright. So again, the GPL and the FSF go beyond the eradication of copyright.
You sound like a broken record. The main intent of the GPLv3, as I understand it, is to prevent tivoization, which is found in many devices these days, and a lack of copyright could never stop. Clearly the intent of the the FSF has moved beyond the "mere" eradication of copyright.
Have you ever heard of data getting illicitly retrieved off of stolen laptops? Happens all the time. It seems to me that assuming that they actually did encrypt all sensitive data without knowing that for a fact is incredibly naive.
It sure takes some balls to publicly display the level of ignorance required to believe that this could turn into a nuclear blast. Gotta commend you for that, at least.
I like how you completely ignored his point that they didn't ask the respondents if they thought Hawaii was a state, but rather whether it was part of the United States, which is a different question entirely and very much open to interpretation: it can be considered to be similar to asking if Quebec is a part of Canada.
Indeed not. There has to be some visibility of the runway: for Cat IIIB, they have to be able to see the runway 150 feet away and 50 feet above. See here for more details.
Really? Apache has 200+ failed unit tests that are just ignored?

Are you saying that the automotive industry is... reluctant to switch to those motors?
*puts on sunglasses*

No, no, no.
Use stevia to sweeten the lemon juice. Sugar is awful for you.

But that radiation isn't concentrated entirely in the skin.

Wow, you're in favor of the sex offender registries too? I think nobody deserves to have child porn planted on their computer more than you do.

If that was true, then why would the GPLv3 even exist?
Have you ever heard of data getting illicitly retrieved off of stolen laptops? Happens all the time. It seems to me that assuming that they actually did encrypt all sensitive data without knowing that for a fact is incredibly naive.
What makes you so sure that the info is encrypted on the laptop? Are you assuming that it is? Does the article state that it is?
Too bad that practically everybody on slashdot thinks of BASIC as GW-BASIC ...
George W. Basic?

Sailing in other oceans thousands of miles away?
Weird, I read it that way too. Possibly I saw the word wookie in your post below it and my brain put it into that sentence.

Penisland probably hasn't, as their name is spelled without a hyphen on purpose. Too bad their pens are never in stock.
The best you can do with an internal combustion engine in theory is 37%
Nonsense. Wartsila diesel engines can get up to 50% efficient. The best you can do with a heat engine in theory is limited only by the temperatures it operates between. In practice, there are materials limits.
Indeed not. There has to be some visibility of the runway: for Cat IIIB, they have to be able to see the runway 150 feet away and 50 feet above. See here for more details.
Ideally, there's no such thing as tasks which can't scale to multiple threads?
