"One could make the argument that KDE is doing the same thing with Konqueror. The reason that nobody's crying foul on that, though, is because there are better browsers out there and people will go find them."
The really important thing (to me): It is no problem for Linux users to "go find them"(other browsers), because every distro out there comes with more than one browser - you can find another one right on your doorstep.
[Back in '98 there might have been the additional problem of bandwith for many home users: you don't tend to download several MB without need if you only have one analog phone line for the whole family, an 28kbit/s modem and pay >5cent/minute to your telco monopolist back then..]
If Windows 98 had been shipped with IE and Netscape preinstalled, maybe browser statistics would be somewhat different today, don't you think?
Oh, so maybe one of the "G"s in "3G" is really that G?

Well, if I'm using my "Gameloader98-GUI from Redmond" this way it works for me with Realaudio and Winamp(2.8): 1. Use the Tara Audio/Video Plugin to play the Real stream. 2. Write it to disk using your favorite output plugin. I can also recommend Dietmar's Output stacker to use several output plugins at the same time, i.e. to listen to the stream and write it to HD.
Works pretty well for audio, but I have never tested whether playing videos works also, because I only use this setup to save some streamed audio to disc.

Cycling at 70? Impossible," concluded 23-year-old Julia, testing the suit for the benefit of the readers of the mass-selling Bild newspaper.
Don't think of it as a serious test. Knowing the "quality" level of "Bild", that line might just be the whole article (maybe there's an additional line of Julia being hot and lonely): - the length fits for the average article; - just add a big red headline with exclamation marks - and a pic of the suit and Julia in underwear. The most selling(sadly, therefore also very important) daily paper in Germany - for a reason; let's just be friendly and say "loooooowest common denominator"; or simply take a look at bild.de for a taste.
but you can't even spell the name of the site correctly, given two whole characters./.
Get it? "Slash dot". Not "Dot slash".
Well, since a cache works as a mirror, ./ is close enough for me.
Of course, the only accepted name for a slashdot cache (thinking of the recent "elgoog" article and lots of posts suggesting "mirrored fonts")
would have to be Dot Backslash..
That was the same thing I wondered when I saw the trailer; I always thought that the two towers were:
Either Orthanc and Minas Tirith - as being the "action centers"
or
Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul - as being the "good" and the "evil" twin fortresses,
marking the borderline and the area where the final battle(s) take place.

Sorry, but there may be prior art ;)
