i was going to do this until i found out that i dont think it is capable of doing a "transparent bridging firewall" . it only supports 1 machine in the DMZ (demilitarized zone).
i think i am going to take it back and buy the SonicWall SOHO3 instead. It has a multiple machine DMZ.
no. actually... comparing Java and C# is a mute point. they are totally different when it really comes down to it.
java still follows the concept of running in a self contained and separate virtual machine. C# is merely a replacement for things like Visual Basic and Active-X and therefore is still part of the host operating system when it really comes down to it. Java still holds true to its roots and has never felt any pressure to change. It was made to run virtually, and C# will NEVER EVER be able to compete with that because it simply is not independent.
Why do people keep trying to compare? it comes down to what you want in your implementation. personally, i consider C# just a shortcut feature of the C++ language. i would only use it to do something that would take too much time or effort in C++ . if i wanted to code something free of C++, then i would definitely use Java instead.
hmm.... lets see... this cable weighs at least a 10 pounds a foot... lets say 50,000 pounds or 25 tons per mile...at the least....what kind of damage would 500,000 tons of cable do if it hit the earth?
Actually, your right, AOL uses IE for its internet package, but AOL also owns Compuserve, which uses Mozilla as a browser. I think AOL uses Compuserve to test the water with the new browser. I wonder how this test is going?
My guess is that AOL may switch to Mozilla soon after Mozilla 1.0 is released. I wonder how the Microsoft lawsuit will affect the success of the Mozilla browser deployment??
actually... right after i posted this message, the text of the article changed to include "written by one of Napster's founding engineers" . that was not there before! i think someone changed it.
your facts are good, but they are the most obvious, and they ignore the more important influences that have slowed the adaption of high bandwidth connections, namely: "political" .
also, i live at 21,000 feet from my central office and i have a 512K connection. my DSL is 2nd generation "256 channel" DSL, which is capable of reaching as far as 25,000 feet... as far as i know... mabye even further. provided by Qwest, here in Portland.
as far as i know, USB2.0 is about 5% faster than Firewire. why would they have wasted time developing USB2.0 if it wasnt going to out-do the older firewire standard? duh?
this is a reliable setup. the monitor has a 5-year! warranty. Nice.

I am not an expert by any means. I am just poking a question and trying to get you to think about it.
One question:
How sure are you that your database tables are configured to be able to store BLOB data? Don't you need to specify some sort of separate tablespace to store the blob data and then assign a table column to use that space?
they dont realize it, but Darwin-like effects are happening here. no matter what the RIAA does, they cant stop these applications from evolving into something they cant sue.:-) they might kill a few, and Kazaaa will probably go down, but someone else will take their place. you cant stop people on the internet from sharing stuff with one another. can you stop two kids from sharing candy with one-another in the lunchroom?
why let users control the popularity of pages by vote when the traffic to the page speaks for itself???

bin laden VS. bill gates : the political cartoon
just thought it was a good idea. it sorta combines certain social issues in the US.
who really controls our country? the most powerful person in the US may not be George Bush... it is very likely Bill Gates. a cartoon such as this would bring the Microsoft DoJ case into a different light and possibly be a good example of what the Taliban hated about the US.
i am going to call my parents in Hood River that night... and ask if the sky is clear down there... if it is, i am gonna jet down there where there are no city lights...
otherwise , i might try going to larch mountain lookout.
I think its pretty funny that a "muddled, unfocused lot" like the linux community is considered to be a threat to Microsofts operating systems. If hackers working for free can out-code fully paid optionaires working at Microsoft, then something is truly wrong. Microsoft should think twice...mabye the real enemy is ITSELF.
It also amazes me that anyone could possibly say that "Linux is about to lose" when it was never trying to compete in the first place. As far as i am concerned, Microsoft can go off and play its own games by itself, because I'm not paying attention. Who cares. Whatever. Linux doesn't compete. It adapts.
Remember people... don't believe all the crap you read on the internet... especially when big media gets excited. Watch out.
i think the SonicWall SOHO3 can do transparent bridging with multiple DMZ's. does anyone know of a cheaper product that can also do this?

i wouldnt want to guess....
the Hitachi CM823F monitor has 2 monitor inputs on the back and a button right on the front that lets you switch between the two.
not only that, but it has a higher refresh rate and a smaller dot pitch of any other monitor and only a fraction of the price. plus a 5-year warranty.

oh man! why'd you have to go and do that to me too!

dude. wake up. the author of this paper is the co-founder of Napster!
its important to know that the author of this paper is Jordan Ritter, who is the co-founder of Napster.

Thank God!! Its about time that they do away with the OLD cd format! I prefer MP3s anyway... and this will just make them more popular.
