imagine how much noise this thing would make... in being the worlds largest vibrator. has anyone been to a club and felt some real good bass? mabye if it was flying saucer shaped, we would have the worlds largest sub-woofer.:-)
i also believe everything i read on the internet, especially if its on slashdot.
we all know that the good waves are ridden by surfers and they are going to be real mad about a huge electricity plant being build on there waves... i can see a real big rumble coming...
remember that developers did not start the mozilla project to make money, they are doing it to prove that an open source project can work, and Netscapes commercialization of it is proof that it worked. bravo to Netscape for making money using a great open source project.
Don't try to HIDE the fact that Glide was ORIGINALLY proprietary. I have never had more trouble in my life than trying to get glide to work on Redhat 5.x in my less experienced days. I am not about to forget the pain that companies like 3dfx have caused (and Microsoft too) in my life by trying to subvert REAL open source projects. Just because they gave up and decided to become open source does not mean that it should be really considered so. I still consider Glide proprietary. By turning open source, it just means that they threw it away because nobody wanted it. It is a final ruse to boost popularity for the technology by making a little noise. I am sorry, but going open source wasn't loud enough for me to hear. *LOL*
this sounds dangerous to me... i will have to report this to the authorities... they will want to know what is going on over there. the last thing i want is to get sucked up in a black hole right after i buy a new house. that would really www.suck.com .
If you read anything about micro-economic theory, you will see this type of behavior in a monopolistic market. The monopoly will undercut prices until many of its competitors leave the market, and then it will raise prices up and repeat again, and again.
Economic theory shows that the consumer loses. I think we should boycott Amazon for doing the same things that Microsoft is trying to do.
the amount of Microsoft applications should be reduced to the amount that people actually pay for... paying customers are the only ones who will suffer a loss... and this might cut out another 80% of that huge amount of apps that they claim... and hey, they would probably agree since they think that Linux software is insignificant anyway... and its free too.
the record companies are the ones who were stupid enough to take the risk of investing so much money into the music industry at a period in history where everything is about to change... so what if they lose money! life is all about risk.
I am a libertarian and I strongly believe in not having government involvement.
Everyone continues to ignore the fact that amongst this HUGE time of change that we have been undergoing in the last 20 years, that the natural order of many things will change. The fact is that the day of the multi-million dollar artist is gone... what we have seen in the past is an artificially high demand for music merely because of the fact that certain conduits could deliver it... namely big name record companies through slave record stores.
Now, when the economic dynamics of things change and allow the supply chain to flow freely, we are now seeing the true value of the musicians that we steal MP3s from. The record companies are afraid of this because they took a risk! They are the ones that were stupid enough to offer michael jackson a 40 million dollar + contract and now they are stuck with it. They are scared becuause they bought stock that they thought would be worth something and now things changed and they are whining about it.
The truth is that musicians deserve compensation for their music... from now on, the great musicians will earn a few million dollars from high priced concert tours that everyone is willing to pay for. The day of the 10+ million dollar musician is over... and for GOOD REASON!!! Dont be sad though... these great musicians will still be rich... and famous... and being a millionaire is far beyond the dreams of most people... those musicians should be happy and the record companies SHOULD be out of business for being stupid enough to wrestle with Napster.
Please respond to this message... i am dying for a good argument against my opinion.
Coca-Cola has trademarked the 'coca-cola' brand name, not the word 'coke'. Why should they be able to tradmark a word out of the dictionary? How can they PROVE that the domain name 'coke.xx' means or implies 'coca-cola' without a shadow of a doubt to the unweary web surfer?? How is this proven? I cannot see how they even have a case against you.
By the way, in the article on the microsoft website at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q 247/8/04.ASP?LNG=ENG&SA=ALLKB you will find a small user opinion poll on the right hand side that asks our opinion.
I said "NO", the article didnt help me and I added the comment "linux rules".
Can everyone please do the same and take the poll on their site???
I was just wondering how this whole thing is going to affect the Church of Scientology. I dont know very much about the church but I have taken one of their quizzes and I could see them using this gene stuff to some sort of end. Or would the Genome project destroy their whole hypothesis that a human can improve himself???
Its easy. Most linux users have a second windows machine so they are the only ones who would exercise 'concious choice'. Almost all windows users dont have a linux machine. As a result: release the linux version first and all the linux users will buy the linux version and then release the windows version afterwards and the remaining windows users will buy up their copies. and then you will have a true estimation of the windows/linux user ratio. if they dont release it this way, then its obvious that the windows version will be preferred and the user data will be wrong. future linux games should not be condemned because of a 'set of incorrect data'!!!!
the point of the article is the you can get a graphical framebuffer display to print out all of the startup info rather than having a text output...
why? because you can get more lines and columns on the screen AND you can show pretty pictures ALSO...
I just bought a sony 100 disc DVD changer and the damned thing wont play CD-r... oh well... i still have my computer.
this site makes me wonder why they didn't hire some models to wear the suits. possibly, they might look better lying on the floor?

i don't have cable, so I am hoping it shows up at my local Hollywood video store. does anyone have any reason to believe that this will happen?

what is .net going to do that other companies have not done yet?
Wasn't there an article on slashdot about 1-2 years ago about this?
Ok, when they are able to manufacture something like see-through Star Trek alumimum for cheaper than die-cast metal... then i'll be impressed.
.... oh no... i'm getting another one of those darned headaches again... gotta go..
Just kidding, I live right next to an aluminum plant
he...he...
After seeing many LCD's in person, my favorite and the one I think looks the best, and has the smallest pixels, is the Apple display.

We can fight the coo-coo egg guy by extending on the concept of trusted favorite users...
What does everyone think of that?
