I live in (Western) Washington State, heat pumps are rare. Seems like well less than 10 percent of heating systems. Oil heat used to be the king here, gas or oil systems converted to gas seem to be the norm now. Heating is the issue here, not cooling.So, maybe you you can take a break on the attitude, depending on where your head is. --- Tried googling for percentage of heating system types in use but got nothing useful, kind of like here.

I don't understand why you see a big difference in calling that a test rather than an experiment. I speak English however I was taught by mostly unmotivated public school employees in Western Washington. Anyway, one mans [experiment | test] is another mans meltdown.
Spot on! However, that does not exonerate the government for their tremendous waste. In the U.S. it does not (legally) give them the right to pick winners and losers based on how much someone donated to their party. It should not excuse them for making themselves mutli-millionaires while blaming millionaires for the problems the government created.
