One thing's for certain - I will NOT buy another CD again. I'll listen to music on the radio, catch whatever's on MTV, go to concerts. Will NOT buy CDs/tapes/etc. Maybe I'll send donations to the few bands who's music I actually care for. But these fat, greedy bastards will not see another single penny from me.
I said it once, then I said it again, here it is one more for the record: Fuck RIAA!!!
You mean to tell me you guys actually thought material that starts with "As PC users know only too well" [http://www.apple.com/powermac/architecture.html] is credible? It reeks of deceit and lies.
People, people. Fruits are not faster than Pentiums. Don't believe the hype!
LRP, not it's variants, has been practically dead for a loooooong, long time. Even tho I can't get to the/.-ted page right now, I assume this is just a formal burial for a great, albeit recently stagnant, project. I salute Dave Cinege, and let it be known that his efforts did not go in vain - I am writing this from behind a firewall spawned by LRP.
While those reviews are more than adequate, I am surprised that Tom's Hardware review is not mentioned. While I would not mention it blindly just because THG was one of the first sites to offer in-depth reviews, after reading it I gained more insight than from the other "here are the benchmarks, mam" sites. Here's the synopsis:
"Intel launches the last P4, with 3.2 GHz for FSB800 and Dual DDR400. Its rival AMD fights back with the Athlon XP 3200+ and Dual DDR400. With the Pentium 5 and Athlon 64 waiting in the wings, it's a historic duel." [tomshardware.com]
Mr. Quick-to-pull-the-trigger, who says I'm running Windows? All I said (implied, actually) was that I'm a PC user. To continue the original idea, I simply do not care for OS X and, especially, Apple. Any problem you may have with that is strictly yours.
And oh hey, way to show your maturity by using foul language! Can I be cool like you? Pretty please?
All of you naysayers out there (I'd be one too if I said it but I won't, read on to find out why) are making a terrible, terrible assumption: that every mail system admin out there will jump on the greylisting bandwagon and implement this.
Back in reality, a lot less than 0.01% will actually implement this technique, especially after reading this thread. So, it's a non-issue. Greylisting is dead.
I can never fully understand why in the world the American public does not ever exercise its right to boycott. This would be a great time to start and set a precedent.
If you go to bonzi.com (don't) right now (5:17 PM EDT) you will get a FUI pop-up. It does say "Advertisment" in a corner, but so what - they're still using it. Don't believe these bastards will ever do anything differently.
> Pretty cool, but then again, nobody has yet bid on ebay which should tell ya something:)
I cannot believe there isn't a [insert_fav_term_here] out there with too much money to waste. I guess [insert_fav_term_here]s only go for things that do not actually require anything of them, like arranging for transportation for such a thing.
What about moving? While keeping the same number while changing carriers is fine and dandy, the statement "one number for life... the ultimate!" is clearly ignorant to the fact that homo sapiens sometimes move. There's no good reason to not be able to, say, keep my NYC number when I move to Miami.
To all who asked "what's wrong with current designations" - this is my take on it:
As American culture/society gets ever more gay, literally by the day, the need for gay^M^M^M"politically correct" terms for everything in sight also increases in a linear fashion. This way one never really says anything, just bullshits (unfortunately, in gay parlance) from sun up till sun down.

Apple - a fruit for, um, fruity people
Let's all unite and say "wow!"
NOT!

Hasn't Intel championed anti-underclocking technology?

the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Let's tax the air we breathe while at it.
Hint: before using an acronym, spell it out. Example: General Motors (GM) today said blah blah blah. Just last year, GM blah blah blah.
From the point of view of serious corporate customers, $US100,000 can be a great big bargain.
I think I'll keep my magnetic drives and spend my $999,900 on something else.
Like, on a calculator

This is a non-issue.
That's The Dumbest Thing I've Ever Heard!
>Wait I'm confused, isn't this a bad thing?
Sarcasm, my furry little friend..
Yes, another dupe. Only thing new is the fact that the Mods no longer add "yes, it's a dupe" on the front page anymore :(
