No kids ? No wife ? No video camera perhaps ? Or just not getting out of your basement ? Encoding 1080p video takes a while, and I should soon start encoding dual stream (3d) 1080p.. That kind of power would be welcome for me (sporting an i7-960 on the computer running the video tools). Anyway, that's the original poster link target..

That's the number of frame per second that the MULTITHREADED VIDEO ENCODER was being able to encode. All of the provided benchmark on that page were about video encoding using multithreaded encoders, and the new proc was beating all others easily. That's why I asked if it was the wrong link perhaps?

As windows has matured too, I find that there's nothing I can't be doing in windows 7. It has an uptime longer than I care for, allow me to play any game I wish at full speed and without hassle, allows me to run VMs of linux if I need it, I ssh into my servers, vnc into others or even remote desktop without problems. It has no problem with 3 dell 3007wfp running on 3d accelerated sli-ed video cards (I just stopped trying on linux), the multimedia stack is way better and allows me to play 3d video or games on my hdtv without hassle too, and my sound system is automatically recognized and adjusted.. So, the question should perhaps be, why would we be interested in switching our main computer to linux ?

After a week you won't be selling any more copies, BTW, unless you are in the top 50. One of the game I published with some friends even got some awards, which pushed us some more people. We had both a pay for it game, and a trial with an upgrade path release. We made some money over the 99$, but then you have extra fees that are added by apple to move the money out and such, and, in the end, we only lost our time and money. It was only a 1 week project for the fun of it, but still the quality was on par with the other products, and all the feedback we got from our friends and family was overwhelming. Had we decided to pay for advertisement, I guess we would have fared better. I guess that's where the most need to be invested.
