    You sound well-intentioned an all, but honestly, I don't think you understand how copyright lawsuits work. /. is just a forum, and it can't police what everyone posts. If someone posts a copyright-violating post, then the copyright owner can ask /. to take it down, but there's no way they can skip that request step and sue (and win) a big judgment. It's just not going to happen.

    As you said, this happens here all the time and has for more than a decade. Have you ever heard of /. getting sued, or even getting a takedown notice? I think you're overreacting, and bordering on paranoid.

    That's ridiculous. People have been doing that for years and, as long as they do it AC to avoid karma whoring, I see no problem with it nor, apparently, does Taco. If the original site has a problem with it, they can issue a DMCA takedown notice. By then it'll be off the front page and no one will care. (What's got YOU so RILED up? That your "news site" or something?)

    Even ultra pure water has a conductivity of 0.054 uS/cm at 25 degrees C (alternately, it has a resistivity of 18.3 MOhm.) But, to be fair, pretty much nothing is a true insulator -- at high enough voltage, just about anything will conduct electricity.

    Are you kidding? Did you just edit that in yourself to be funny, or are you seriously considering wikipedia to be an authority? Here's an equally authoritative source that claims microwaves are 3GHz and up. What now?

    To be clear: I'm not saying it's not 300MHz to 300GHz (but it's not a well-defined term anyway, so who cares) but I'm shocked and more than a little dismayed to see someone on /. trying to use wikipedia as an authoritative source. Please reconsider your research methodologies. "Woops" indeed. :(

    No it isn't. What's the total annual payout for console tourneys? 1) you probably can't answer because no one knows about console tourneys, since 2) they're all $20 grand prizes and some schwag at the local gamestop when a new game is released. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are won in PC game tourneys each year.

    Does it really matter which console the games were on first? Do you think a rail shooter is as fun on a 360/ps3 controller as it is on a wii "zapper" (or just the wiimote, which is effectively a lightgun)?

    Ultimately, you're trying to argue the Wii is a good SP gamers machine when it's common knowledge by pretty much any gamer worth his crust that it's not it's specialty, why waste my time and other slashdot readers times? Seriously?

    That's some pretty weak appeal to popularity fallacy right there. I find the wii to be a damn good SP machine, and I have so many games I want to finish that I've put a moratorium on buying new ones until I do so (Metroid, Mario Galaxy, RE4, Twilight Princess, Paper Mario, No More Heroes, Smash Bros 1p, Okami, Zak and Wiki, Boom Blox, ...) I don't think I'm all that "uncommon" since I know a dozen others like me in this respect.
