So while, Portal, TF2, HL2:ep2, COD4, and Bioshock get lots of "Best" nominations, they're mysteriously absent from the "Best Downloadable Game" category, even though they're all quite downloadable via steam. Maybe they meant "best downloadable (only) game (not available in stores?"
With Steam and (the relatively crappy) Direct2Drive sales channels, isn't just about everything "downloadable" now? Heck, if you include torrents and such, I'm sure absolutely everything is downloadable;)
Rock Band is innovative in how it brings it all together. Yes pretty much every aspect of it has been done before, but you could say the same for Portal.
No you couldn't. I'm not saying Rock Band isn't innovative, I'm just disputing the notion that every aspect of Portal has been done before. Narbacular Drop didn't have GlaDOS or JC's awesome endgame song, you know. Those aspects are just as important to the fun and innovation that make Portal as the portals themselves.
Don't be silly. Of course Time Machine isn't like Shadow Volume Copy; Time Machine requires an additional hard drive to save the backup (mirror, really.) It's more like RAID0 in that respect. Only slower.
If the sun disappeared this instant the Earth would continue in orbit under its gravitational field for 8 minutes more: the time it takes light to travel from the sun to the Earth.
You say that with the confidence of someone who has personally performed the experiment. I suspect your confidence is unwarranted.
What a horror story. No offense, but perhaps you and your allergic-to-everything (and herpes-infected) wife should reconsider your decision to reproduce?
Haha, are you seriously trying to suggest that modern cars/SUVs are larger, more massive, have poorer handling and breaking, and more blind spots than those 30 years ago? You really couldn't be more wrong.
Thirding this; that "10 worst keyboards" article was as bad as this. One sentence per page, 10+ pages, and no "print" link to see it all at once. I refuse to tolerate such nonsense, even though I do have adblock so none of the pages have any ads at all....just a waste of time.
Thanks for this. Amazing that your post, which barely fills one single screen on my computer, would take me 10 clicks to "next" to see in that ridiculously split-up article. I'm blocking all the ads anyway, so why do they try to make me read articles one sentence per page? I hate them.:(
Have you seen how small a Wii is? It's like 3 stacked DVD cases. They now make cheap DVD players that are about the same size or smaller. Assuming that dying $30 DVD player of yours is more than a year or so old, I bet a Wii and a small DVD player combined would be smaller than it. Seriously, get a Wii (if you can find one) -- they're great!
In cases of boss/employee or superior/subordinate relationships, overt pressure or force is not necessary to constitute sexual harassment. The pressure or force can be (though need not be) implicit in the power differential in the relationship. That's why you should never screw your employees, or diddle your interns. Even if you're the president. So no, not irrelevant. (And who are you to tell a grand jury what is relevant? If they want to know, it's relevant by definition.)
The only "belief" (strong or otherwise) of mine you know is that I don't think it's right to lie to a grand jury, and that the questions the grand jury were asking Bill were relevant to the charges he faced. Clarence Thomas has nothing to do with this. As far as I know he was never impeached for lying. Nor was he convicted of sexual harassment. I don't see how you made the leap from my statement about Bill to your conclusion about Clarence.
BTW, eschewal is shunning, avoiding. As in the classic "eschew obfuscation." Not sure how that's relevant either.
You think questions about sex with a subordinate are unreasonable in a grand jury investigation into rape and/or sexual harassment? That's a "personal matter which a court has no business asking" in that context? Wow.
Maybe my understanding is off, but wouldn't the US government be the perfect entity to write encyclopedia article given that they are the primary source in the scope of their job?
Well, you would think so, but you'd be wrong. Wikipedia does not allow original research, so if you are the source, you can't add the info. You have to get the info from some other notable source, and cite it. Also, if you're calling those edits "propaganda" I have to wonder if you looked at the changes at all.
Well, since most of the edits are from 2005 and were just now noticed, I'd say they did not "occur to them that it would be changed back five minutes later" and for good reason.
In my opinion clicking "Cancel" once is less annoying than clicking "NEXT PAGE" through 3 pages (in this case; it's often far more) and waiting for ads and "sidebar links" to load and clutter the screen.
Please continue to link to print pages for multiple-page stories.
I mean this in a nice, constructive way: would you please consider using punctuation and capitalization rather than putting two line feeds between every sentence? Thanks in advance!
No, the sad thing is you got owned and are still trying to weasel out of it. Rather than doing the right thing and admitting you were wrong, or even the decent thing and slinking away quietly, you're doing the ridiculous thing of continuing to argue and call the word "colloquial... slang" which it definitively is not.
Stupider is proper, true English; it is a perfectly cromulent word. And I feel stupider for having read your post and bothering to reply to it.

What? Two people were arrested. They were sitting in cars using Wifi from a house. That's nuts? No, you're nuts.

Can't they both be bad? Or does one being much worse make the other "good" in your mind?

I'm afraid you don't, really.
a) Yes we do have a good picture of the jellyfish genome and what genes interact with the glow gene (warning PDF and sciency stuff.)
b) How are we supposed to have a "complete understanding" of the modified organism without making one?

Paranoid much? See a shrink.

Seriously! I mean, everyone lies to grand juries. Right?
I think that's because Harmonix included neither a banjo nor a washtub base.

I'm guessing your last multiplayer gaming experience on a PC was around the Doom 2 days. Try TF2, for example. Works perfectly.
BTW, your "decent gaming rig" takes up to 5 minutes to turn on and load XP? Something is wrong.
I'll take that as a "yes." Thanks! But no thanks on the sexual offer. I'm straight.
I mean this in a nice, constructive way: would you please consider using punctuation and capitalization rather than putting two line feeds between every sentence? Thanks in advance!
