FriendsReunited tried to do a similar thing (without the spamming or heavy advertising) - charging for sending messages. They've now been bought up by ITV (a UK television company), and I presume they're not doing so badly, but clearly not as well as facebook.
They do still send out emails far too often that aren't anything to do with what schools or colleges you've been to though. I don't think companies like this will make their money through customers for contacting other users. People will always find a way around it.
Digital Cinema is nice in the sense that it delivers a very crisp image without the normal signs of wear, but it is "only" 4096 x 2160px. That doesn't beat a good 35mm film, let alone 70mm.
Yeah it is that film. I enjoyed it though it isn't very Bond-like. Still an improvement over Casino Royale (which is even less an a Bond film, imho!)
Sure Digital Cinema might not beat film in terms of resolution, but the clarity made it appear to be far more detailed; and certainly seem a lot higher definition. Especially without the distracting signs of wear that film has, I found it a lot easier to watch and a lot easier to see details of the astounding amount of product placements.
Amazingly, I was playing around with this yesterday after watching Quantum of Solace in Digital Cinema. Astounding quality.
I found some example videos, here and especially on here. Amazing. My PC can barely play it in high quality, and my monitor can only do 2048 pixels across, but still it's impressive!
I'm glad its not just me! Agreed, I'm glad they do release their updates often too. Certainly better than some manufacturers, but some models do seem to have some problems, especially with the first revisions. The same with any manufacturer I guess, purely often down to hardware compatibility.
So, a no then? iirc it was an AM2 with SLI I had the weird problem with it not booting, yet had been up until then. No new hardware or anything but the update (after putting a lower CPU in first) fixed it.
I've got a Gigabyte AM2 at the moment, running Gentoo Linux, and Arch in the past. I have had some trouble with it a year back, but not had any problems with newer kernels. Hope that helps!
Honestly? I've had problems with both ASRock and ASUS motherboards, generally to do with BIOS problems - all on Windows XP and Vista. I've never had one myself and can only comment on my customers' machines, this is purely my experience, but often I've had machines that just won't boot, and after a BIOS reset and/or BIOS upgrade, they've been fine. One had to have a lower processor put in before an upgrade could be done; yet it was working fine!
Is this just something I've had problems with as a fluke, my bad luck (or good luck!), or perhaps a common problem with these boards?
I'd hate to see MS shut down their Xbox division. They basically took some great developers, gave them a real budget, and said "do what you want."
That explains a lot. Aside from the hardware problems, the XBox is one of the less flawed consoles. Now if only there'd put this much effort into all the other stuff they do...
Oh, and the lib dems are a party so schizophrenic that voting for them in a general election is just plain silly.
And all the other political parties AREN'T schizophrenic? That's practically the definition of a political party, say one thing and do another.
It's hateful to hear you won't be voting for a party (even if you agree with their policies) because you think they are 'silly'.
Being as the Lib Dem's have never been in power themselves (!) and the policies which are important to me are ones they agree with, I'll be voting for them.
Posting anonymously (over an SSH proxy too) so Labour can't see what I'll be voting for in the next election and try to change my mind or the result (again).
Who's to say someone hasn't written a script in the folder you're in called 'rm' or even 'ls' that you haven't seen? With the wrong permissions, you'd be running it without realizing!
I'm sure you can do this in Windows with some cli apps (I'm guessing that 'dir' and 'type' probably won't work, but I'm sure there's some commands like 'start' that might do)
The book is here: http://beta.yudu.com/library/item_details/19544/Philogelos--The-Laugh-Addict---The-World-s-Oldest-Joke-Book
And you can read it (well, watch Jim Bowen perform them), here: http://publishing.yudu.com/Library/Au7bv/PhilogelosTheLaughAd/resources/index.htm
This was a triumph?*
No... this was a Triumph!
* sorry, as much as I love portal... it's getting old!
that's a problem of money, not of drugs :o)
OP here, wasn't a joke - I'd never heard of it before. Tried google, couldn't find it. What else can I say!?
Maybe I'm being thick, but who are LinkLn? I can't find them anywhere on Google, unless you mean the *nix command?

Not a troll, this actually happened: Asus Ships Cracking Software On Recovery DVD
You already can boot linux in just a few seconds!
Surely the faster Windows can boot, the more work can be done by employees? :o)

Wait, what!? What the hell are you talking about? BluRay? WiFi?
Are you guys talking about the XBox *360*!? I'd wish you'd said! I don't have one of those and couldn't possibly comment.

I'll see that, and I raise you a "up until a short time ago, artists used to make most, if not all of their money through concerts".

Wait... Are you implying that me, or that my boyfriend is castrated?
I think you failed... Mind you, so did he last time.
Sorry! It's my fault. I'm off work this week :o)

On the contrary, shorter IS something to be proud of.
Cool! Thanks! I'll tell my boyfriend that next time!
Try: /dev/* 2> /dev/null
blockdev --report
as HTH NE1 (675604) said above.
blktool is probably good, but blockdev is on most Linux recovery CD's as default.
What about just finding out what the top ten CLI tools that you use are?
history|awk '{print $2}'|awk 'BEGIN {FS="|"} {print $1}'|sort|uniq -c|sort -rn|head -10
I'm shocked how often I use Screen!
That doesn't list all block devices on my system, only the hard drives! (No fd0, etc). Not sure why but thanks though!
