Also, in my experience, just changing the Hard Disk Controller to a 'Standard Hard Disk Controller' in Windows Device manager is enough to allow the computer to boot with different hardware.
A good way to see if this is true is if you only receive the 'Inaccessible Hard Disk' BSOD then thats probably the only difference that's required to allow Windows to boot and so that Hardware can be redetected.
You can also do a full hardware detect with SysPrep:o)
I work at a local secondary school in the UK. My advise is to NOT work there unless the money is really good.
Due to the nature of the pay scales, at least in the UK, you can't ever earn more than about £16,000. And if you ever think of leaving and returning, you're put back on basic wage.
Because of this, most staff are Technicians or just interested in Computers but don't actually know how to work the network, or correct procedures.
There's a good discussion I commented on over here:
I'm 23 and I completely agree - I'm exactly the same. I have to say I have to think its pretty sad when the most calm and relaxed part of my day is the drive to and from work.
I'm guessing it just refers to the fact that is it On-Demand Antivirus only, not On-Access. Its certainly true of the app! I guess no-one can confirm except themselves though.
I've used ClamAV (and Clamwin), AVG, Avast, AntiVir and Norton and McAfee.
None of them come even close to BitDefender when it comes to Windows. Its free (and there's a linux version) - but only for home use. I'm trying to get them to pay for it at work - McAfee sucks.
Anyway, give it a go. I seem to remember it got 100% a few weeks back on Slashdot, I tried it and I'd never go back to AVG*.
Actually, i read in that bug for some reason minimizing firefox seems to release a lot of the memory, I dunno why though. Hopefully this'll help someone out there.

No seriously, Jabber, which can communicate with AIM and MSN through... Yes it says so on the box. No, I don't care if almost never works.
I set up a jabber server myself last night - adding MSN? Took me 5 minutes and works perfectly. Ok, file transfers don't but I've had no trouble at all.
Hopefully this merger will go ahead and should make things easier for the developers - I'm quite sure it did when AOL + ICQ did their thing:)
Totally. I've had nothing but trouble from Intel's 'PROSet' utility. I've been having a fight at work just being able to get onto the network on wireless at the moment... Though its given me some excuses not to do much work, maybe this might help someone else too.
Basically its a fault with the power management function on Pentium laptops with the 2200BG card.
[Yet I have no trouble on my own Gentoo laptop with a dodgy PCMCIA Broadcom card... I wish I didn't have to use Microsoft here... *sigh*]
Hope that helps someone else with one of these crappy Intel PROSet cards. Time to reboot again I guess... I just hope I can post this message before the card kills itself again.:)
Yup. Apart from when I've been using PICO, where CTRL+W does FIND!! GRRRRR!
Using the KeyConfig extension, I've been able to change this though! Fantastic! Beat that Internet Exploder.
(Yeah, I'm the same DugUK that posted on his blog last night, and I remembered where I found the link - on a/. article, as ZeroExistenZ already mentioned.)
Oh also, huge thanks goes to Greg R. for pointing me in the direction of the KeyConfig extension for changing shortcut keys.
Hopefully this is useful to LinkLog and a few other people too;)

Don't suppose u could let us know where this setting is, or what the program is you use? Sorry to be a pain but I'd find this really useful!

I've got an O2 Smartphone - the O2 XDA IIi (I've also had the II) and never found this feature!

If you've got one, can you tell me where this feature is? If you've read it somewhere, I think you might have been mistaken

It's hardcore/drum n bass, with a tempo around 160-220bpm (or sometimes over 500, seriously
It's really not as bad as most people think

There maybe more clever people employed in corporations, but that doesn't mean they actually work.

Naa, they're just employed full-time, doesn't mean they'd actually put more effort into working than at home
Ok, I'm just bitter because most of my coworkers are lazy bastards
Oh - and don't forget, it only takes one person to break the technology, and the company will only implement what they can afford.

It's probably the best AV out there - well, apart from ClamAV - because its a beauty to work with on a mail server.

I know you think that's bad.
But try doing programming in a library at a school.
The money isn't worth it and expecting anything but loud screaming is impossible. I've given up on trying to do anything when I'm not alone now.
I won't even mention the management, the lack of advancement or how teaching is considered at least three times (by pay) more valuable.
Though the (almost complete) lack of commercialism is nice.
