Strange; I've seen your name on a number of K5 posts.
I got into the habit of visiting K5 years ago and have seen its rapid decline over the last year or so. I post there very rarely, but still vote on stories in the increasingly vain hope that I can stop, or at least slow, the decline. Maybe that makes me an idiot, too.
IIRC, the Nazi-era laws that defined Jewishness specifically exempted only two people by name -- Jesus Christ and Adolf Hitler. This, combined with other factors, led to speculation that Hitler had some Jewish ancestry.
I was part of the WordPro development team from 96-98. I worked mostly on COM and LotusScript integration, so I can't take credit for the UI, which was a mixed bag; there were a lot of UI blunders, such as placing the Next button to the left of the Previous button in various wizards. The people responsible for that one should have been shot.
I still use WordPro occasionally, but as a testbed for COM objects I develop -- LotusScript is a decent alternative to VBA.
We use bugzilla combined with scmbug and subversion. When we check in code fixes using svn, we have to enter a bugzilla bug number, which allows the svn checkin to annotate the bug, tying a specific code change to it.
Good to see that some ISU traditions are still alive. I bought my first computer (a Sol-20) at their weekly warehouse sale back in '83, then spent a weekend wire-wrapping a 64K SRAM board for it. I remember paying more for the memory board components than I did for the computer. I used the computer for several years, becoming quite familiar with 8080/Z-80 assembler and CP/M.
Exactly. A couple weeks ago, I ran across a quote from the manager of a clothing factory in the Carolinas; he said that even if he didn't pay his employees any salary/benefits, he still couldn't compete with the Chinese.
Actually, the UK pint is 20 fluid ounces, not 16.
if the book had been run past a competant editor. Just using a spelling checker and (maybe) a grammer checker isn't enough.
In other words, bad guys poke at you, you fire back and hit the wrong guy. Lather, rinse, repeat. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
It was good enough for George W. Bush.
I haven't looked at the Longhorn/Vista beta yet, but my guess is 6.0, since Windows 2003 Server is 5.2.
The Straight Dope on pig orgasms.
Although American Dad's spot might be free soon
It's already free -- the last two Sundays have had FG reruns in the 9:30 ET slot.
because Miller has never written about Plame.
Isn't that how Sirius Cybernetics got its start?
Yes, but most people will use it for windows.
But Tesla would have slowed the rotation of the earth so that the day would actually be long enough to do the job.
For a Supreme Being, God has pretty bad aim -- the epicenter is about 500 miles from the site of the MJ trial.
How much has been budgeted for the quinine?
Well, the NSA is about 200 years ahead of the rest of the world in theoretical maths.

Actually, the epicenter is a baseball stadium.

Said cartoon is named "Bacall to Arms"; it's on the DVD of "To Have and Have Not". Saw it just a couple of weeks ago.
Scrubs is a good show -- one of my favorites. However, it's not on NBC's fall schedule; it may show up as a mid/late season replacement.

1. Teddy Kennedy not wearing one on TV
Wrong Kennedy -- it was JFK.

I've seen bottles of cocaine hydrochloride solution in my eye doctor's office, presumably for use as an anesthetic.

Zero-resistance is the holy grail of electrical systems. I really hope they can do it!
Of course they'll do it; after all, resistance is futile.
