The only reason they help Gandalf and the dwarves escape the goblins in the Misty Mountains is to repay Gandalf for aiding them, not because they felt it was the "right" thing to do or were asked to do it out of the kindness of their hearts.

Why would I sacrifice flexibility? This is a similar reason that I'm just not interested in the "DVD Player selling point" of the PS2 and XBox -- I can't do both at the same time if they are the same device.
What's more Apple gives all of this money they collect to the music industry who themselves have to do virtually nothing for it but trade a bit of paper.
Apple gives the same deal to independent labels. CDBaby records are generally available at iTunes, and the artists are getting a pretty good deal with them.
Every other label would get 80 cents off the same dollar. It's not Apple's fault that an artist signed with the RIAA which might give them pennies out of that dollar, instead of an independent label which might give them 70 cents off of that dollar.

If it's racism to notice a trend of entrusting the Presidency time and time again to "Rich White Man" and want change, if it's sexism to do the same, well then damn I guess I am a racist and a sexist. "Rich White Man" has been screwing the country and lining his pockets. I'm ready for something different, and next November, I can almost guarantee that there won't be much difference, substantially, between whomever is put forward by the two "main" parties. It disgusts me that America has had 43 presidents, and every single one of them has been a white man. Are we to believe that people are being judged by their characters, when not a single time in the 200+ years of history of the United States has a minority or female candidate had sufficient content of character to be fit to be even a major party nominee for president?
The system is f*cked and if I have to resort to racism to un-f*ck it then by all means, down with the white man. It's all fine and good to sit at the top of the mountain as a rich white man and say, "ok, now that I'm up here, everyone will be judged on their character! huzzah!". The problem is... a lot of the people in the power to do all the judging are racist white men.

I had bought a PlayStation earlier in the year, but had to return it when I really needed some money. Then for Christmas, I unwrapped a PlayStation game from my fiancee's mom and thought, oh geez, what am I going to do with this, while thanking her a lot and saying I could play it on somebody else's system. I didn't get it -- my fiancee's gift which I opened next was a PlayStation. Pretty cool gaming Christmas, especially since my fiancee bought herself Tomb Raider for us to play also:)
