Continued training and education is always good, I don't disagree with your point. I don't know how Darren Wilson could have defended himself with "higher standards". If you are in fear for your life, who are we to judge how he defends himself (not that there was anything wrong with the way he did).
The evidence is clear, the cop did his job. But so many have already made their minds up, they won't listen to it. I am actually very surprised that there are so many on Slashdot that can't see that.
The problem with "Ala-cart" is, you can't get just the 1 channel you want, you get the "Viacom" channels or the "Turner" channels or the "Fox" channels etc. If you want just news channels you have to buy 3 or more channel "groups" to get Fox News, CNN, MSNBC (or whatever). There wont be a time soon when you can just order the specific channel you want, the parent companies wants all their programming sold together.
I like a few things about 8.1. I like 7 a lot, but I like the quicker boot in 8.1, I like some of the apps, the weather one in particular. From what I have read, 8/8.1 is better underneath and generally faster than 7.
"What knives/cutters were used in the most recent stabbings"
What is so often is missed in statements like that are the results. The resent schools stabbing injured ~20, the most recent school shooting killed 20+. HUGE difference.
As an American, I would love it if we had a gun policy like Japan or UK etc, (ever hear of a drive by stabbing?) but the U.S. has been so gun crazy for so long and there are so many guns out there, getting rid of all them would likely be impossible. Not to mention the gun nuts that would rather go down shooting than hand over their guns. I just can not buy into, "more guns will make us safer"...
I have always enjoyed Bill Nye. Watching him in his early days on his show and on a local Seattle show "Almost Live". He was witty and funny.
From Wiki: "He studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University (where one of his professors was Carl Sagan) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1977. Nye occasionally returns to Cornell as a professor to guest lecture introductory level astronomy and human ecology classes."
I would think that is sufficient education to be "the Science Guy". Why do we need to tear him down?
I remember 1GB drive going for ~$100 in 1998. 1TB drives have been under $100 for a few years. We will probably see 1PB drives by 2025

YOU are the idiot making this about race. Anyone that robs a store and then attacks an officer would be shot in the same manner.
Well presented argument, and AC none the less. I am shaking in my boots...
Ya, now it is just filled with whiny ACs
Nobody won here
I am thoroughly chastised and educated.
The grand jury found no reason to even send this to trial. Cut and dry case of justifiable self defense. END of story.
Typical red neck "Murican" response. You embarrass me as an American.

I am sorry, but I would have to agree. Having more than 4 Mbps is nice, but not necessary for basic web browsing, youtube etc.
I have always thought that voice recognition was a short term, stop gap measure before thought recognition. Nice to see it arrive.
Only the U.S. can do that!

I started using 8.1 was I could install "Classic Shell" and make it more or less just like 7.

The words aren't just being added, it is a clarification of words that are already there.
Seems a bit far fetched to me. It could also be where Jimmy Hoffa is buried...
It's DAZzling :)
I wouldn't accuse him, he got it spot on.
OK Sheldon...
In case anyone is curious, a taste of Bill Nye on Almost Live.
