I'm a Second Lifer too, CronoCloud Creeggan is my av. I'm cautious among unfamiliar male avatars (except in Caledon) and I expect most other players with female avs (whether the player is male/female/TG/IS probably doesn't matter). I've had too many newbies bump into me with their freebie penises for my comfort.
As for being treated as one of the girls in SL, I've said that in SL, you are what you look like. Your look helps define your niche in SL.
Getting away from the legal considerations, there's another issue: It's a bad idea to piss off the gays. Ask Kathy Griffin; the gay crowd is a gold mine.
There's a joke/meme among the TG internet savvy, considering the number of transfolks involved with IT, programming, etc, that goes something like this: "Do "we" own/run the internet? Yes, yes we do." So it might be bad to piss of the transfolk, (at least on the internet)
Iran admits to having transgendered folks, the surgery is even performed there. There is some accusations by Human Rights organizations that gay men in Iran are pressured into identifying as transgendered and transitioning (or else), so that people who would identify as gay men in the U.S. are being essentially force to become women (or basically die)
The free credit report ads state at the end "free credit report requires subscription to triple advantage" or somesuch at the end. I don't recall VP ads having anything similar.
The disdain often extends to end users making UI suggestions as well. If you don't have a CVS ready patch, you're a stupid user that doesn't know anything and they don't have to listen to you.
At least you didn't get the "GIMP is only offensive in English, Gimpel is a European bullfinch" excuse.
It's not named Gimpel, it's GIMP. Name so by some students in America who spoke English and should have chosen a different name. But it was all cool and recursive and it stuck.
And now the GIMP developers are too stubborn to change it.
The GIMP folks say that it is designed for the manipulation of existing images, not creating new ones. That if you want to do that you should be using another tool because the GIMP is not a paint/drawing program.
I first used GIMP (an old 1.1.foo) version in 2002 and people were complaining about the lack of CMYK support then. Many considered it a top priority over anything else. Heck people complained that time was spent on the 2.2 GUI instead of CMYK. So why isn't CMYK done?
You probably accidentally detached the crop tool's info box from the main toolbox. In fact you can accidentally do that with any of those boxes, done it myself, and when you do it, it stays detached even across sessions.
Not if you count all those online PS2 games. I remember DS gamers saying, "don't worry the games will come, and until they do, you've got the GBA library to tide you over"
Sonys would be awesome to if it wasn't because that Sony are as retarded as Apple and force you to use crap software.
Ahhh, SonicStage. It's not that different from iTunes really, similar look and feel, at least in the recent versions.
Sony does make at least one mp3 player that doesn't need SonicStage, that being the PSP. You only need to use SonicStage with the PSP if you're transferring over songs you've purchased from Sony's store. (Which is dropping Atrac and going WMA)
It not only sounds like SL it even looks like SL, only better. I saw a screenshot a couple of days ago where a female avatar looked like she was wearing an improved version of some SL skins. Kind of like a RaC or RealSKINS skin, only without the shading issues photosourced skins often have in SL. Personally I'm hoping Sony will allow/support user created fashion content. Last I heard, "Home" itself will be free to use.
How could you not know that Judaism is still practiced as a faith? Don't you watch Seinfeld? Law & Order? Or even 7th Heaven? How could anyone be that isolated from modern culture to not know this?
Well perhaps they should call Airplane Mode, "radio off/disable radio" mode. Because normal people might not realize what Airplane mode does and only think of using it on an airplane.
Own a PS2?
Own a copy of Half Life, or Deus Ex for said PS2?
Plug in USB keyboard and/or mouse?
Do you know what happens? They work.
Course I do the smart thing and just plug in the mouse (optical wireless) so I can keep my superior analog movement rather than broken-kludgy WASD
The games also support the standard dualshock
It's not an either/or situation, games can support both
Unified online?
Final Fantasy XI

Second Life is not a traditional MMORPG.

the non-DRM'd iTunes+ songs WILL play on any other player that can play AAC.

Nethack 3.4.3 is less than 20 years old, released on December 8th of 2003. Nethack is under continuous development you know.
Oh, I agree, but try telling the GIMP developers that.

Ooh, that's a good one. I like that!
The best I was able to come up with was:
gnuImage
Yes, we've been hearing about GEGL for how many years now? Wasn't it supposed to be in 2.4?

low quality MPEG1 video? low bit rate AAC? That thing can't match the PSP's built in multimedia features.
Not if you count all those online PS2 games. I remember DS gamers saying, "don't worry the games will come, and until they do, you've got the GBA library to tide you over"

I hate to say this but....

You do know that Sony sells a USB reader for the PS2 cards.
