  2. Marvel's Captain Marvel, on the other hand? A relative unknown. I had been peripherally aware that Marvel had someone by that name in their hero pantheon, but until recently I thought he was male.

Hand in your Nerd card. Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel (well Ms. Marvel), when she got zapped by the Kree Psyche Magnetron in 1977. The Kree "Captain Mar-Vell"... well he died, Carol then adopted his name to honor his memory.

Monica Rambeau (currently Spectrum) also used the name when Carol got depowered by Rogue just before she joined the X-Men.

All of that happened decades ago.

Sharon Ventura (altered human who got her powers during the Things UCWF storyline) and Kamala Khan (Inhuman ancestry, Inhumans are a Human derived species who are Kree experiments) have also used the name Ms. Marvel

  3. Monica Rambeau is actually the SECOND female Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers (the character played by Brie Larson) is the first in 1977. Monica took on the name (but not the powers, her powers are different) when Carol got her powers permanently absorbed by Rogue of the Mystique-led Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Soon after that Rogue joined the X-men.

  4. say "could expect" because often attempts are made to wash a character into something it's not. I suspect that this is an attempt to make a macho male character then replace "him" with a girl and declare the project complete.

Carol Danvers first became Captain Marvel in 1977, exposed to energies from the Kree Psyche-magnetron device.

Several other women have used that name in the Marvel universe. When Carol became depowered after an encounter with Rogue of the X-Men, Monica Rambeau (who currently goes by "Photon" IIRC....doublechecks...ah "Spectrum") took the name.

Sharon Ventura (given powers by Karl Malus in that UCWF storyline) was known as Ms. Marvel.

Then there's Kamala Khan (part Inhuman), who uses the Ms. Marvel alias currently.

The original Kree fellow was really named Mar-Vell.

  5. Umm, Carol Danvers first became Captain Marvel in 1977. The Kree guy was Mar-Vell. (called Captain Marvel by humans). Carol got zapped by the Kree Psyche Magnetron. She later, in 80's got her powers permanently absorbed by Rogue. later, she became Binary. Can't remember when she lost her Binary powers and became Captain Marvel again.

"Ms. Marvel" is Sharon Ventura, who later became a "She-Thing"

  6. You're forgetting that Monica Rambeau used the name for a while, during the time that Danvers was either de-powered or Binary.

You'd get an email from a mailing list service about the new video.
You could respond to that message with comments. Your e-mail would be sent to the whole group subscribed to the "list-service" and would be properly threaded.

Wide Screen is the way to go whether your writing software or editing video or using virtualmachines.

Why yes, but you're forgetting that some coders get set in their ways or stick to tradition. A bunch of people became coders in a 4:3 environment, so to them a 16:9 monitor has less "space" than the 4:3 because their workflow isn't designed to make good use of horizontal space, their workflow is designed around vertical space.

Heck they might not even think about putting applications side by side.

There's no-one that does this better than Flickr.

    Yep, especially if you're Pro.

Flickr Groups are also quite useful, and Flickr handles comments better than most other sharing sites.

Flickr's also screenshot friendly, as long as you label/tag them as such, having originated in screenshot sharing tools created for a game.

I've been Pro since 2007, jumped to flickr from Picasa web albums IIRC which was nowhere near as polished as flickr was, even in 2007.

Yeah, if all someone wants to do is archive their phone photos, then Flickr isn't really for them. But if they like using a REAL camera, or are a serious user of the advanced screenshot tools in certain games/applications (Second LIfe users tend to be fond of Flickr)...then they might really like Flickr.

Besides RL photography, Flickr is also popular with screenshotters/virtual photographers, especially with users of games/worlds that have extensive phototools. Examples being, Second Life, No Man's Sky, Elite and so forth. Flickr is screenshot friendly, they just want you to label and tag them as such.

I hope eventually they'll include a true offline mode, but that's probably not a priority for FDev.

I play on PS4 and play rarely (though I do have the Thrustmaster t-flight HOTAS 4) so I don't have a ship capable of doing DW2. I thought about making the trip to Pallaeni to see them off, but it would have been almost 40 jumps in my lightly- upgraded-at-the-time Cobra. I should be able to welcome them back though.

She liked Hot Shots Golf too, though her long game needed work, she was a monster on the short game though. Her putting and chipping was better than mine.
She unlocked all the characters before I did. She did this all with serious rheumatoid arthritis in her hands. (enough to deform her joints)

Because, whippersnapper, in our day when The Internet went down, our games were still playable.

They still are, for the most part, even on consoles. Now sure MMO's and MMO-ish games and online multiplayer will be unusable, but single-player games will be just fine and dandy.

Some years back Sony had a similar problem during the PS3 days. It was a leap year bug, IIRC. Anyway, you couldn't access PSN, or use some PSN downloads, but single-player games on disc worked fine.

And now, I could unplug the Ethernet cable from the PS4 and play offline no trouble at all. Sure I couldn't play MMO's like Star Trek Online, or MMO-ish Elite Dangerous, or FortNite: Save the World PVE, but I could play Diablo, Rebel Galaxy, or Skyrim with no problem.

PS+ Instant game library stuff does need to be reauthorized every now and then, from what I can tell it checks your PS+ expiration date and sets expiration to that so you're good for a year. This mostly affects the Vita since you've got to start each PS+ freebie individually (you only have to go to the LiveArea screen) for the expiration date data to update.

That doesn't apply to purchased games, they get expiration dates of "Never".

No more factory jobs making TV's, adult children asking for help from parents to pay for things like school supplies, maybe their old white doctor retiring and getting replaced a 2nd generation immigrant or something.

So they threw in with Trump, he promised to return things to the way it was, he said the things they thought in their deepest hearts. And it didn't hurt that he was a famous businessman with gold apartments with a model wife.

I first heard of him via a lifestyles of the rich show, where he claimed to be a billionaire...... some time later one of the newsmagazines debunked it said he was deep in debt, had been bailed out by his dad before, and was maybe worth 400 million, tops.

They didn't know that he'd said the Central park 5 who had been exonerated of the crime they'd been jailed for, should stay in jail. He said their settlement for wrongful conviction was a disgrace.
The DNA evidence and their forced confessions mean nothing to him, they're just "thugs" like other black men are to him.
