I run into the same thing actually. One of my coworkers and I infected our machines with spyware and then scanned with multiple programs. Each program seemed to remove more items after the previous was completed. So obviously none of them are getting everything, but some are obviously better than others.

So where does this guy get his "paid" spyware removal applications? Clicking on popups? Oh... wait...

many of these utilities use aggressive marketing tactics in pop-up ads, spam, and keyword ads appearing alongside Google search results

Though I suppose this is how they sucker a lot of people and some people expect results if they pay for a utility, I would probably do at least a LITTLE research before paying for any app like that. The thing is, I would hardly consider this "most commercial anti-spyware software." So as far as this "test," he might as well do an article about Virtual Bouncer and how it removed his parasites for him.

Why didn't he test something like Spy Sweeper or Giant AntiSpyware? Those are paid ones that I would probably recommend if someone did want to pay for a program. At least that way, people would see that not ALL commerical products are crap - it does almost sound like that.

But really, Spybot isn't even cutting it anymore, IMO. AdAware is still doing well, but I've actually been more impressed with the other two I mentioned above - worth a look if you haven't checked them out - both have free trials that you would have no problems doing a removal with.

This is different. As the person above me said - this is like a Office Depot sort of price matching. Like... you find a lower price and we'll match it before you buy. The model line changes are different beasts altogether.

Right... but it's not a price thing for that. People are buying from resellers BECAUSE OF the bundles. Not because of a lower price with bundles. So there is usually little price difference, it's just that resellers offer more with the purchase than Apple does.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one to notice this now, but I haven't seen it before. While I was browsing the store, I saw an Apple Price Matching ad... Apple is now going to Price Match all resellers on hardware and software.

    Price Match details and FAQ

I usually only see the resellers selling for $3 or $4 less on most products though, so not sure how much this will help sales. Where Apple seems to maybe get bitten on this is when resellers are bundling printers and other items with big hardware purchases.

While I agree with what you're saying, neither you nor I, nor the extension developers can help the changes that are made by the Firefox developers. So they just have to adapt. As someone else here mentioned, you can disable the "don't use obsolete extensions" thing which will just force all of your extensions to work anyways. But I'd just assume wait until they're actually updated and are KNOWN to work.

My old digital camera worked out like that... It was a Fuji FinePix 1400. Not fantastic, but it got the job done.

Anyways, it always seemed to have issues with my XP machine. I'd have to install drivers to begin with, but every once in a while it just decided to not work at all when I plugged it in. It ended up becoming a chore to get pictures off of the damn thing.

Then I tried plugging it into my iBook. I saw a "no name" drive instantly show up on my desktop, iPhoto opened and everything was perfect. I didn't even have to think about if it would work when I plugged it in again, it just always did.

Needless to say, I stopped using that camera with my XP machine and always pulled pictures off of it with my iBook. I use the past tense form there because I have a new camera now, so that one's not in use anymore.

Kind of ironic that todays post was about traffic:
All I can say now is: WOW!

On Wednesday, my readership started to increase from 20-40 hits per day to over 150 hits. I was starting to approach 1000 total hits and was pretty excited about that, when on Thursday I received almost 2000 hits. Right now, (a little past 2:30pm Pacific Daylight Savings Time) I have received almost 6000 hits for Friday.

Yesterday, with less than 2000 hits I exceeded by bandwidth traffic limitations for the MONTH. Thursday's transfers were in excess of 1 GB. I immediately upgraded the service from doteasy.com's free service to the highest tiered pay service, but that only gives me 20 GB per month. So, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm guessing the 20 GB will last only through the weekend.

So, I need suggestions on low cost HIGH traffic (I guess I'll need about 10 GB per day) servers that I can move my website to. I don't need too much space (100 MB will last a long time) because the site is currently only 8 MB.

As a warning this website might go down, but I'll do everything I can to keep it up and running.

I'm also thinking about putting up a paypal donation thing, but that isn't going to help unless I can find a host that will be able to allow enough monthly traffic for the website to survive.
