Doesn't this defeat the purpose of her sleeping her way to the top? I mean, if she's already sleeping with the boss/owner, where else is there for her to go? Especially just for secretarial work. She should have held out for more...
I don't think it's so much about "supporting unfair business practices." Some people just want to watch things on those channels. Given, MTV and such are pretty much wasted space... but if you've ever been around kids recently, you might know that Nickelodeon is still big with the young ones.
I have a little brother and sister (3 and 7 yrs old) and for whatever reason, the can't get enough of the stuff on there...
And I can't imagine what Survivor fans are going to do... (another thing I'm not a fan of). But some people just want to see watch that programming, no matter who owns it or usually, what they're doing for business practices. DirecTV sounds like a great choice now for some people because it's still offering those stations...
I always thought that as long as you had more than half of the bill, you can just take it to a bank and have it replaced... I didn't know about anything that the actual treasury would do for you.
No, I totally see the problem with it (and personally, I don't like what they're trying to do). I thought they had learned their lesson from the other previous antitrust suits (plural!). But it seems they just want to pur more into it.
Although, maybe they see it as removing one thing (media) and adding another (av)? My end point from the other post was just that theoretically, the antivirus serves a much more important purpose than the media players.
Job... hmm... Job. Nope, don't have one of those yet.:) Although I have two interviews this week, so things are starting to pick up a little. With any luck, I could have something before my birthday.
Heh... I'm not sure mine does. But I would assume not then, since it's from the same parent disc.:) Maybe it's an XP Home thing or something though. Doing enough installs at ResCom, I don't know how many times I saw that stupid intro... maybe it's even a flash thing???
Maybe MS should start including a program or webpage or something that opens up when you install the OS that says "These are the competing products for the software pre-installed on this system." Or something to that effect where it can provide links to things like Mozilla and other browsers and RealPlayer and other media software. Not that they would do that, but it's the idea of making the consumer aware that there are alternatives.
Well sure, you need WMP to play that big fancy intro production thing that plays after you install XP and boot into it for the first time. Without WMP, it might just go right to the desktop (without pressing ESC even!).
Well if they did that, it most likely would not be a "Critical" update, so many people could overlook it. They'd probably include it as just a "Windows" update. Fine by me though. I don't care for the full WMP anyway, mplayer2 all the way. Although I wonder if that would be dropped as well. I don't consider it the same thing, but the EU might.
Maybe an oversized R2D2? And there could be a big removable window around the top of him where the DVDs could rotate and you could add/remove contents. And of course you could have pretty lights and other assorted accessories and widgets inside too.
True, I'm sure they are probably used. But really, if they're free... a DVD is a DVD as long as it plays fine. Come to think of it, even if it didn't play, it would still be a DVD... but just a shitty one that you could sell to some sucker on eBay for $5.
Are you illiterate? I didn't say he wanted to know what video card to use... I said he doesn't have anything ready yet. Although by "system," one could conclude that this would include some sort of hardware that may include some sort of video out device that he is looking for suggestions on.
"What he has is a basic system to serve basic MPEG streams to his plasma."
What he has is about 1000 DVDs that he's like to watch on his big screen. He doesn't say that he has any "basic system" yet. The ones that serve basic MPEG streams are the ones he's seen. Not the ones he has.
He didn't buy an iPod just to change the battery in it. His died after 18 months, so he tried to change the battery in it himself. He spent the $400 on a new one because he couldn't fix his ALREADY DEAD one. So it's not paying $800 for one iPod, he got his 18 months out of the first one.
Actually, I think you need to RTFS again... cause he didn't rip anything yet. He wants to and is asking about a SYSTEM also, meaning he doesn't actually have anything that's "TV-Out ready" yet.
Instead of just "jukebox sort of setup", why not just convert an actual jukebox? That may be what you were getting at though. One of the CD ones obviously. But it seems like a perfect match. It's meant to hold discs, and read those discs based on selection. In theory, if you could replace the reading device with that of a DVD player and get audio AND video out of it... Sounds like one hell of a case mode project if you ask me... But damn that would be so cool.
Will my iPod personalization be preserved?
If your original iPod was personalized by Apple, your replacement iPod will be automatically personalized with same text. If your original iPod was custom laser engraved by another company, your replacement iPod will not be personalized.
You forgot the Xbox. Although, I don't know if you can pick one single thing that it's based off of. More like a collection of things.

Actually... I don't use it. No need. And partly b/c I'm on dialup (not by choice), so no real downloading abilities. Sucks actually. A lot.
;)
As a side note though... I doubt that Sally Homemaker that has Dish Network knows what Usenet is though...

I think we're overlooking one very important question here...
Why the hell was someone carrying around $1000, mostly in 20s, in their wallet?
Maybe I'm the only one that doesn't get that part...
Reminds me of putting coins on the railroad tracks as a kid... but that was the 80s, so hopefully, no federal offense. :)

Step 1: Insert foot in door.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit.
Step 4: Retire.
Good luck though.

Of course, once this settlement is reached, they can start a new lawsuit over them putting Antivirus into XP SP2...
Though yes, the AV does serve a much better purpose than RealPlayer and WMP and such...
Can't use RTFA? Then why not use RTFS? It's a "story," right? And he didn't read it... Makes perfect sense. :)

Hey, I didn't say that I would sell them... I have 100% positive feedback, don't want to go messing that up!

I need to start applying to crappy video stores that look like they're going to go out of business (but have a well stocked selection... :)
