    Is there some way to cluster a several of these linux ipods together? That seems like the next logical step to me. Either that or running a web server on one.

    I forgot to mention: It isn't running out of space on earth that concerns me. It is the fact that Earth just isn't going to be around forever. Something out of our control could happen to it. It would be nice to have a contigency plan.

    the torrent that is floating around is fake. if you unrar, burn, and boot like the .nfo file says, it just boots it to a very lovely goatse image. no joke, wasted two hours of my life and made a coaster out of some DVD+R media. HILARIOUS!

    You are speaking my language, Slashcrap. It would be a win-win you know. It would free up time for people to dig for really neat stories that nobodoy else is reporting on and you still get the type of staple stories you would expect to get.

    I think the Safari RSS support is neato. Does osnews.com have an RSS feed. If so, maybe Slashdot can just automatically aggregate it into the front page from now on. It might save a lot of time.

    In the comments of the last Dvorak article on Slashdot, it was pointed out that usually when Dvorak praises something it fails soon after. So if he trashes something then that is actually an indicator of a bright future for it.

    What ever happened to Xenix? And why couldn't have just kept FreeBSD on the hotmail servers? They ended up plugging the *BSD TCP/IP stack into Windows anyway.

    I think the most important feature is that it is cross platform. Most of the IM-based solutions for voice even if they are cross platform, only provide the voice capability in the Windows version of the client.
